    Tonight Patti Smith celebrated her 70th birthday. At her concert at the Riviera Theatre in Chicago, where Smith was performing her seminal album Horses, Michael Stipe joined her on stage to sing “Happy Birthday” with cake and confetti. Watch clips from Stipe’s appearance below. Earlier this month, the two performed together at a Democracy Now! event in New York City.
