Feb 17, 2017 He was one of the biggest innovators in world football during the early years at Arsenal; - Some of the diets he learned over in Japan that he brought over to England are almost now standard practices in every team - His massive scouting network was unheard of in those days, the fact that he brought in some of the now most recognizable names in Arsenal's history for practically a bag of peanuts is incredible. - He practically predicted the rise of the smaller, skillful players (particular from Spain Re: Fabregas) I understand the toll and hardships of when he had a limited budget when the Emirates was coming together and keeping those star players but what now? His failure to adapt to more modern tactics (Arsenal are the worst team in football at pressing when depossessed) and clearly he just doesn't motivate the teams like he used to (the body language and frustration of some of the players is the most telling). There is no way the club hasn't been able to battle against Europe's elite nor have they been able to win in a league that's right now in a rebuilding stage talent-wise.
Feb 17, 2017 Weve won 5 major trophies in 13 years btw , ik its only FA Cup/Community Shield but its still a major trophy . Now im desperate for one of the big 2 trophies also , which is why I think this season is disappointing but this was the first season since 2001-02 where Wenger heavily spent . He will heavily spend next season , it just needs them small tweaks , Wilshere and Xhaka will be fantastic in CM , then there will be tweaks going forward and trust me Wenger will bring some silverware
Feb 17, 2017 But he has still kept them up there for all the time he has been at the club , I agree with his failure to adapt to more modern tactics thats another weakness letting him down . But my overall point is which other manager at this moment in time is going to change the situation from top to bottom and "instantly" win the title and UCL in the same season which is what Arsenal fans have been begging for ? This is what Arsenal fans are asking for and there isn't any manager out there who can instantly gain success.
Feb 17, 2017 Weve been saying the same thing for years bro. "It will work" "be patient" "let the young players develop" "we are spending more" etc. We broke the bank with Ozil and Sanchez and still haven't made significant process. It ain't about competing, its about winning and the worst thing is continue to stay in a situation that is going nowhere. Its a cycle. Every season we go through this. Its gonna be hard, and we may struggle if he leaves but we have to take the risk because I'm done living the same horror movie over and over again every f---ing season.
Feb 17, 2017 But it could be worse without Wenger , I don't think its going to change next season if Wenger goes . Wenger could go to another team and win major major honours whilst we could be struggling fr .
Feb 17, 2017 Thats never Wengers ambition and in his last 2 seasons he has not got 4th . I understand maybe the Board doesnt pressure him as much . But now the board are pressuring definitely as I heard Gazidis is in spain . I really think he is the only manager right now capable of delivering Arsenal success , I dont see any other manager instantly changing it .
Feb 17, 2017 Yes there has, look at Chelsea. For all the megalomania that Abramovich produces, his team has won league titles and won a champions league title (albeit with the worst team since Rafa's Liverpool in 05) by shuffling managers. It's not apocalyptic to suggest a new face could get the best out of squads. Arsenal isn't solely just Wenger either, that damm board & directors has loved the complacency in results over this decade.
Feb 17, 2017 I agree the board don't pressure Wenger enough and I feel thats where Arsenal lacks the most in. I feel like Kroenke doesn't give a s--- about Arsenal FC and Gazidis is too complacent with his job .
Mar 7, 2017 wenger is not even half as good as guardiola or mourinho even pochettino better than him these days
Mar 14, 2017 To be fair, Pep gaurdiola was blessed with a 20 year old Messi and a 23 year old Iniesta. Wenger has never had the fortune of getting two of the greatest players OAT come from the same generation in the same academy.
