Nov 15, 2020 After a 50 Cent failure in 2007, the label no longer invested in promotions for their label's artists. Already in 2010 it was clear that this is the label of one artist. If in 2005 Eminem was 35% of Shady and 65% were other artists, then in 2020 Eminem is 99.99% and 0.01% are other artists.
Nov 15, 2020 its crazy but shady just cant sign a artist to do 50 numbers fif played the game back then
Nov 15, 2020 Early 2000s was a good time to be on shady records. Say what you will about the artists longevity, em got really involved and you could tell you actually cared about his artists, shouting them our on everything bringing them on tour, video appearances features left and right, connections with other artists like dre, Nate dogg, etc. Was like a family of artists. Even in 2009-2010, em talks about cashis, 50 and the third d12 album. After 2010 em latched onto royce and slaughterhouse and was more focused on the next popstar he could feature with. The shady family vibe was dead. And slaughterhouse consumed the whole thing- wack as they are. As with most of recent em problems, it stems from royce behind the scenes and selling out. Only recently is em even working with rap artists again, let alone people on his own label. with royce being his rap gatekeeper it feels like
Nov 15, 2020 After the whole SH thing, em changed the route and let his artist do their thing. yelawolf is the Perfect example. Man did exactly what he wanted with his albums under shady. that’s why em don’t have much involvement anymore
Nov 15, 2020 It's not that he doesn't care. It's not 2000s anymore. Shady is not popular at all. Eminem is the only one who still is popular. But he cannot get involved with his artists and I believe it's mainly because the artists don't feel like it. Em probably has tons of leftover verses and he probably would be fine giving 2-3 verses per album as a feature on them which would eventually boost the numbers. Plus he was involved heavily on both SH and Yela's first Shady albums and both were huge flops anyway. Artists don't wanna comprimise from their own styles and musicality but expect Em to help them be big ? That's non sense. Expecting to be big just by listening to Em's advises is another foolish thing. The world doesn't work that way. Nobody really needs a label promoting their stuff in order to be big now, it's not even about quality, it's just releasing the right types of s----s at the right times, basically luck more than anything else lol. As for promoting, Em used to be sooo out there compared to now. He is basically retired as a celebrity. He just releases music as he pleases. That's it. The guy barely even shoots videos anymore for himself, barely does any concerts, never actually tours overseas. So basically, only thing Em can do for his artists at this point is to share the albums and maybe share the singles or other stuff about his artists but he is not even controlling his own twitter I guess... All in all, I believe some of the Shady signees in the last decade only signed to have a shot at being famous and big as Em is but it was really dumb assumption to make anyway. That's why some of them didn't really have any Em production, features at all. That's the case with Griselda, they probably never was a huge Em fans at the first place. Their rap styles don't match with Em's. Em probably thought they were dope in artistic way and wanted to help them distribute their art but all they cared was to be big and famous with Shady signing...
Nov 15, 2020 I think it would be a mess, they say he's already independent? That would explain why he didn't even try promoting the album.
Nov 15, 2020 Yep I think they only did this whole thing because they wanted more attention. i‘m 100% sure their never liked Eminem or his music. I think only Benny it not that much of a attention whor-
Nov 15, 2020 Shady Records is like the WWE of the music business, it may seem like a good idea at first because it's where you want to go, but it turns out to be a s--- show and not a good fit, when they don't handle you correctly
Nov 15, 2020 Didn't really read this fully but if you think the artist under shady wouldn't k--- for even the most average feature from em is r-----ed lol in reality it feels more like he gives his actual artist the s--- end of the stick with his guest features but rainy days and b--- are much better than the days of getting throw that verses like he gave sh
