Feb 26, 2018 I dunno, like @Fire Squad said, it won a Grammy and was on most critic lists of best albums of 2016
Feb 26, 2018 CB had a few radio songs so it got some mainstream recognition because of white girls. I'd definitely say the majority of chance fans were disappointed and it received bad response in the hip hop community, as you can see in this thread.
Feb 26, 2018 I'd say the saturation series is the most overrated. I fw it big time but d-ck riders hyped it out of proportion.
Feb 27, 2018 Yeezus is absolutely not in this discussion It still gets s--- on by incorrect people all the time
Feb 27, 2018 The fact that there are still people who haven't accepted Yeezus as the greatest album in history is proof that it's underrated
Feb 27, 2018 Any outkast album as well. Could never never get through a whole album. Too much filler. Nas illmatic is also a snooze fest
Feb 27, 2018 I dont think its yeezus cause many people think its sh--. I would say tpab 100000%, i cant even think of anything close. Edit: forgot about blonde, blonde is close.
Feb 27, 2018 Many people who follow rap closely were disappointed by coloring book, but it was a HUGE cross-genre success. I liked it quite a bit when it dropped, but it's way too many songs and feels kinda one note, which wears thin pretty fast. I think it's a decent album (songs like No Problem haven't left my rotation since), but it's definitely not the 9/10 classic people were making it out to be.
Feb 27, 2018 Chance set expectations way high with his Ultralight Beam verse and never really met them. What puts me off CB as a whole is that, while it's pretty similar to his ULB verse in terms of content, CB really turns it up to eleven. I'm not religious in the slightest but I don't have a problem with Christian rap as a general rule (Malice's post-Clipse stuff is underrated), but Coloring Book was too much and kinda creeped me out, like I was being brainwashed by listening to it.
