UU was good. One of the best this year. OP's opinion isn't that much a hot take tho. Kendrick has always been better than Cole. I would argue that FNL is better than Kendrick's pre-Section.80 work

I understand your point of view homie. Kendrick is a beast. But, for me, there is something with how both manage their careers, especially at the level of their career. Kendrick has the support of this label with what it implies in advertising and promote. J.Cole manage through his label to put out his first album, with FNL.
With this point of view, it change the perception we have of their careers and how we see their work.

There's something also with Cole. I think there's people who love him and others who find he has nothing to be famous. It's cliche but Cole speak to souls. If you're not affected by histories which he describes, may be it's because your social and psychological conditions who dont allow this.
From this point of view, it's purely subjective to appreciate his work, different from Kendrick.

I agree to this 100% idk to me kendrick may be better but cole is just more relatable to me which is why he's my personal favourite of the two the 1a and 1b tho to me

I used to love kenny but now 75% of his raps are with the chipmunk voice (it was pretty dope the first couple of times ) and my ears cant stand high pitched rapping. Do i think his lyrics and flow are still amazing? Yes. This is why I prefer Cole over kenny imo
