Mimi the art of doing nothing

    Oct 13, 2021
I felt so uncomfortable and didn't want to read on. But I couldn't stop. I needed to continue. I needed the descriptive, horrendous pain. But the pleasure. The depravity.

After my first read through I tried to watch 120 Days of Sodom but was disappointed early and had to stop watching. It was pitiful compared to the book. But isn't that the usual feeling with all book to movies

d--- you r so smart how you describe things like that u a queen. What you described is like my alcohol problem. I open a new bottle of jack daniels at first i feel so uncomfortable but i couldn’t stop. I needed to continue. I needed the descriptive, horrendous pain. But the pleasure. The depravity.

Definitely counts. They have some good stories there.
I am reading some papers which were translated from Arabic (this guys did it https://translationreport.com/arabic-translation-services) and which i gonna need to share with my work colleagues tomorrow at the press conference. It is incredible boring, it is a pity no-one else wants to do it for me.

I totally get that uncomfortable yet gripping feeling with a book. Recently dove into the game of thrones books, and they're like a rollercoaster of emotions – the pain, pleasure, and all that unpredictability. And oh boy, the book-to-movie disappointment is too real! Tried watching 120 Days of Sodom after reading a certain intense book, and it just fell flat. The vivid imagery in your mind from reading is tough to match on screen. Anyone else feel that frustration too? I'd love some book recommendations.

I've actually been reading a LOT recently. Currently reading the Odyssey, and I have like 5 books I want to read right after. I'll probably read Notes From Underground after finishing Odyssey, or I might just read the Aeneid. I hope this thread becomes more active!!! It'd be great for people to give thoughts and recommendations in here
