Jul 10, 2016 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wash_(soundtrack) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dr._Dre_Presents_the_Aftermath Just realized these exist, halfway through the first one and its pretty great. Suprised to never have seen someone mention these
Jul 10, 2016 Forgot about The Wash ...what a terrible movie Been There Done That was a pretty big song for how simple it was I would never judge an artist by albums like that though....The Firm could be thrown in there
Jul 10, 2016 Yeah it was terrible. On paper it sounded like a good idea. I only remember like 3 tracks which were pretty good. The rest was garbage
Jul 10, 2016 I own the CD for The Aftermath. Pretty bad tbh. But "Been There, Done That" is a Dre classic
Jul 10, 2016 d---...always using the white man to get ahead... In the autumn of 1997, Aftermath released the only collaborative project by hip hop super-group The Firm (composed of AZ, Foxy Brown, Nas, and Nature). Despite the highly anticipated album featuring production and cameo appearances by Dr. Dre himself, debuting atop the Billboard 200 and being certified platinum,[3] it sold below commercial expectation. The group subsequently disbanded. Aftermath's next release was supposed to be by rapper King Tee. His album, however, was shelved, and King Tee was released from his contractual obligations in 2001.[4] Last Emperor had also been signed during this time, but was shelved due to creative differences with an A&R at Aftermath.[5] Upon recommendation from Interscope Records head, Jimmy Iovine, Aftermath signed now multi-platinum rapper Eminem in 1998. The following year, Eminem's major label debut, The Slim Shady LP was released. The album topped the Billboard albums chart, went on to be certified quadruple platinum, and arguably became the label's first successful release. Also in 1999, Aftermath released 2001, Dr. Dre's follow-up to his 1992 album, The Chronic. The album went on to be certified six-times-platinum.
Jul 10, 2016 Knew about the wash soundtrack but never had much interest in checkin it out. Legit never heard of that aftermath one tho
Jul 10, 2016 dont really remember the wash soundtrack, dont think i listened more than a few times. pretty sure i really enjoyed 1 song though. The aftermath tape was alright. half good, half kinda boring. Also, thinking about it his release of Aftermath may have caused his mental delusion(?) that stopped him from from dropping detox. he totally disowned it "Haters say Dre fell off, how n-----? my last album was the chronic" i think he got insecure about it, then that insecurity led to him thinking all off his stuff may end up as poorly received as Aftermath.
Jul 10, 2016 well like its not really his album so theres not much to be embarassed about, he didnt contribute that much to the actual music
Jul 10, 2016 The Aftermath is pretty decent. "East Coast / West Coast" was initially supposed to be the start of a supergroup featuring Nas, KRS-One, RBX and B-Real but it never materialised. I haven't listened to The Wash purely because of how bad the film was.
Jul 11, 2016 This was from the Wash OST I wonder what ever happened to Knockturnal? Used to love this>
Jul 11, 2016 aftermath tape is great, I've never heard the wash ost tho, only seen half of the movie, I don't think I will ever see the rest. Maybe I'll check the wash ost, didn't know it was a thing
