Dec 8, 2015 I've skipped the reboot tbh. I'm fond of the Toby versions and hold them dear (besides the third) Are these two movies any good? Worth watching?
Dec 9, 2015 I actually like the reboot franchise better than the original franchise. The reboot movies don't have that family friendly, colorful feel that the originals had, i was honestly glad to see that gone. Still don't think either franchise is perfect though.
Dec 9, 2015 The first one was good, I guess. I felt like the acting was better, and the chemistry between Peter/Gwen > Peter/MaryJane. Plus, I really do prefer Garfield's Spiderman to Tobey's. Spiderman 2 > Spiderman 1 > Amazing Spiderman > Spiderman 3 = Amazing Spiderman 2. I'll say this though, if Amazing Spiderman 1 was made before the original, it might've been better than the original. They really f----- up this franchise though. I thought Amazing Spiderman 2 had hope to bury the previous trilogy, but it was just as f---ing weak as Spiderman 3. Spiderman 2 was the best, by far.
Dec 9, 2015 I agree with most of this..I didn't particularly care for the amazing spiderman 2 upon my first watch but when I revisited it Ifelt that it had tons of potential for it to be a good sequel had they cut down on the introduction of new characters and had more character development. A directors cut of the movie would probably help in that regard. Kinda sucks that the second trilogy wasn't completed. I really enjoyed Andrew Garfield as Spiderman and the darker aspects of the new trilogy
Dec 9, 2015 What surprised me, is they made the same exact mistakes as Spiderman 3, but with different characters... It blew my mind. They made it just as bland and corny, and they introduced new villains too fast, and made Electro way too powerful (like Sandman). Plus, Goblin was basically like Venom... He turned fast, and barely was in the movie lol. It just seemed so cheesy and quick. Emma Stone and Garfield were amazing though, throughout each movie. The first one, being a remake, rehashed a lot of the original Spiderman, but I actually preferred the origin more. I just didn't like The Lizard. I thought Green Goblin was a much better villain. I seriously liked the whole back story in both movies. But, again, they really failed on the villains. Garfield was the perfect Spiderman though. It was a waste. He was ten times better than Tobey. I really just want a f---ing Spiderman movie with a LEGIT Venom in it...
Dec 9, 2015 Also, I loved how he would look at everyone's wrist for Uncle Ben's killer, and he was a much more rogue Spiderman than Tobey's. Just a wasted opportunity.
Dec 9, 2015 I loved the first one, but the only part of the second one I liked was the actual musical score Hans Zimmer is that dude.
Dec 9, 2015 If only the first trilogy thought to have some of the ideas from AS (which honestly followed some elements of the comics closer as well as they could've handled the Venom arc better than they did...ugh), then the reboot wouldnt be in existence, well, not as early as it was and it probably only would have it reboot to link him to The Avengers (poor Spidey, he'll probably never make his cameo...much like X-Men) I didnt like the reboots because I didnt like the acting. OG Uncle Ben was best Ben and sorry, Andrew Garfield could never be like Toby Mcguire for this main reason easily the most unintentionally hilarious ugly cry faces
Dec 9, 2015 If Andrew Garfield was in the original and Emma Stone played mary jane in the original then it would have been perfect. Didnt really care for the plots of these two movies though. the orignal trilogy had better plots except for spiderman 3 which is on par with asm2
Dec 9, 2015 Tobey and Dunst were so bad, I agree with all of this.. Spiderman 3 could've been incredible too.
Dec 10, 2015 It erks me when someone says Tobey will be the only true Spiderman, yeah Garfield's wasn't the best but I prefered it over Tobey's and it also was closer to the original comic Spiderman. I think the new Peter that Marvel is making will be the best by far, supposedly he does his own stunts and s---, and Marvel has yet to disappoint me.
Dec 10, 2015 Emma Stone >>>>> Kirsten Dunst I know they were technically different characters, but she blew her away.
Dec 10, 2015 They are worth watching. The only great thing about them was Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield. Garfield was a great Spider-man but a horrible Peter Parker imo.
