Jan 13, 2021 this would be a really unproductive back-and-forth because i basically just think those beats are bad, not much else to say lol.
Jan 13, 2021 Judging Eminem’s music is just, like, impossible to me. I don’t care at all to ever really listen to him anymore and I’d be lying if I said I listen to his new albums more than twice. But at the same time, he’s the reason I fell in love with music and he was my first favorite artist ever. Like, nothing will change the feelings I had when my cousin first showed my MMLP, or when I had to hide my TES cd from my parents, or listening to Recovery for the first time as a 15 year old and thinking it was the greatest s--- ever. So, I judge his music mostly now based on those feelings, so it’s hard for me to rate eras other than there’s the era when he was my favorite artist and then era now when I don’t listen to him anymore because I don’t like his new stuff. So SSLP - MMLP2 >>>>> MMLP2 - Now.
Jan 13, 2021 i dont agree rly, theyre at least GOOD imho. but glad to get u to list specifics! what about his work on TES, cheers? my name? like how far are you willing to go here u see my friends, wpg in these debates is like the rabid dog. trap him in a corner, see what hes willing to do
Jan 13, 2021 ??? Denzel Curry is great and Zuu is a fantastic album. A love letter to Florida hip-hop.
Jan 13, 2021 yeah many men is one of a few classics em had a hand in producing!!! unless @WPG knows something we dont i think it counts i was pleased savage mode 2 gave a nice tribute to it as well.
Jan 13, 2021 i think denzel is very talented but don’t find him particularly interesting. “ricky” is a genuinely great song but i never return to anything else.
Jan 13, 2021 Yeah Ricky is amazing and hasn't left my rotation since it came out. I liked Imperial, Planet Shrooms/32 Zel (wasn't a huge fan of Taboo) but Zuu is the first album of his I genuinely love. I'm mostly just confused why Grimace is disappointed that I like him.
Jan 13, 2021 Gave it a spin when it came out and didn't enjoy it, is it worth revisiting for real or are you gassing me up?
Jan 13, 2021 I thought it was OK, I only ended up listening a few times. I think it's awesome that Kenny Beats makes tapes with such a variety of artists (Key!, Greedo, Rico Nasty, Denzel, Vince Staples, etc) and at his best he's a great and extremely versatile producer, but I do think there are times when that versatility makes him sound a little bit paint-by-the-numbers because he's more of a jack of all trades rather than a master of a certain style.
