The older I get, the more I can relate to Em's albums, especially to pre-hiatus songs.
MMLP2 is dope, I copped a physical copy as soon as they arrived in my country. It's 9/10 album imo

Blueprint is a great album, no doubt about that.

Exactly - too many features on Special Effects, but after all it's a dope album.

    Yasiin Bey aka Mos Def
    Lupe Fiasco
    Nas
A Tribe Called Quest (if I had to choose one from that group it'd be Q-Tip just over Phife Dawg)
    2Pac

It's devastating when you're the only one in your group of friends that's passionate about music, specifically hip-hop.

Hip Hop is much bigger than just the music. And growing up in NYC, I've seen that firsthand. Whether it's graffiti in the streets, my friends breakdancing, DJ's, fashion, concerts, etc. Rapping is just one aspect of it. Knowing that I come from the city that created this entire culture and that my father and uncle were there as it was being created always meant something to me. This is my city and my culture.

A connection with my late father, a bond between childhood friends, a former creative outlet, a lifelong interest, a counterculture while growing up in a more rural community, my generation's pop music, sparking my interest in music in general, etc.
