I've been using my beats since 2008 and I'm ready to try something else :wow2:

Thinking of copping these, any audiophiles on this site who can let me know if they're better than beats? Audio Technica m50x

Bose QC 15. Their noise cancellation is perfect and lightweight and comfortable.

Sony, Bose and Sennheiser do good quality ones. Beats aren't too bad for casual listening.

That's a great pair of headphones. Those and the CALs (creative aurvana live) are some of the best cans under $150 IMO.

Word the price isn't really a factor for me, I'd be willing to spend up to $300. Anything better I can get in that range?

Also are those better than the Beats?

I definitely think so. If you think Beats are great headphones you don't need to spend $300 on a pair of cans bro. Beats are more stylish but if you want sound over style and willing to drop beats type money then Sennheiser HD600

No, my beats definitely aren't great headphones. But the only reason I'm replacing is them is to get something better. I'm not sure if the M50X is a pair worth upgrading too. My budget is $300 because I'd like coming great for that price. :dno:

If youre tryna get good sound and still get all the b------s sennheiser hd598 are nice af. They look good and i prefer the sound to my beats studios. They have some better sounding models for your price range but these are def a nice buy

Sennheiser & audio technica I would say are probably some of the best choices.
Bose if you want great noise cancellation.

I've heard really great things about the m50x audio technica's, although I have never used them so can't say for sure.

I recently got some open audio technicas, ATH-AD500X, they were ~$90, and I like them a lot, I really wish i had spent more money and bought one of the more expensive models.
One thing you have to take into consideration is what you're going to be using the headphones for. Open headphones like the Sennheiser HD600 and the audio technica's that I purchased let in a lot of outside sound but give you a really crisp sound, you don't have any sound bouncing off the inside of the headphones and back at you. They are not really ideal for listening to things in noisy environments, maybe better suited for the home. People around you can also hear what you are listening to even at relatively low volumes and the bass on them is relatively lower than on a non-open pair of headphones.

The m50x are more like normal headphones, not open. I often see them on people walking around on campus and such. I've never used them but I have read some really great things about them.

Yeah im not sure if they ship to canada. Sennheiser one of the best period, they only offer like three models better but they range like $500 - 1500. These retail for 400 but the lowest ive seen em is 320, great pick up for sure.
