Jan 23, 2016 Yeah, hear the 808s, altho they're mixed pretty low (probably just use to really loud pounding bass at this point)
Jan 23, 2016 No, not the 808 kicks. The bassline that plays continually throughout the entire track. It kicks in at 13 seconds. It's not mixed low at all, quite the opposite. But theres no way any earbuds that don't cost a fortune could ever play the full frequency range of it.
Jan 23, 2016 Lol, okay. Considering it doesn't play through my speakers and sub either, I'm gonna call bs (or tired ears, since I just got up)
Jan 23, 2016 Lol your sub is either really s--- or you placed it completely wrong to make use of the acoustics in your room. See if you were mixing vocals with your setup, and something went wrong and it picked up sub bass frequencies around 20-25 hertz there's no way you'd be able to hear that unless you constantly check your spectrum analyzer. There's a good reason why no one ever uses earbuds for mixing.
Jan 23, 2016 Dr Dre studios that I received for my birthday. I believe they are the first ones that came out, not sure how it compares with the newer ones
Jan 23, 2016 Looking at V-Moda Crossfade M-100, but seeing very mixed reviews online. Anyone has/had them?
Jan 23, 2016 sub isn't the greatest but it's never given me any problems before unless the song in question wasn't mastered/mixed properly. if this were, it wouldn't be so god d--- low i disagree on my inability to hear that garbled s---. also, i do constantly check my frequencies, and I know where to cut them out on things like that 99% of the time, so this isn't really an issue. not really. it's just sort of a snobby bi-product of people buying expensive a--- s--- and buying into the more expensive stuff being outright better because it costs more, when it's all cheap as f--- to make. there's just a big brand name and/or price tag attached most of the time
Jan 23, 2016 It's supposed to be low, it's supposed to be for the people who have a good enough sub to play it that's the whole concept. Nothing ever beats the destructive force of a 20-25 hz bassline penetrating all walls in a 200m radius.
Jan 23, 2016 lol that's such bs. if it were mixed/mastered right it should play on everything and sound and feel great.
Jan 23, 2016 Also this is just delusional, if you keep thinking this you're always gonna be limited in designing soundscapes because of your lack of clarity and element separation. But hey if you want to produce for pop consumption go ahead. The fact that you said "even beats" pretty much exposes the fact that you dont know what you're talking about. There are mid-high end audio peripherals out there where you do get better audio for your money, audio technica being a great name for example. (I know ATH's don't have the same price-performance rate anymore but when i bought mine they were the best).
Jan 23, 2016 i'm not saying there's not better options out there, but what i work with sounds just fine. and nobody ever complains about my work sounding like it was made with earbuds, so I don't see it as limiting at all since most people probably won't even know that's what i work with because of how i produce. and i threw beats in there because it's an example of what i meant by that, since beats are a lot of time the default for 'high end' audio listening for your average listener, and I think they sound like muddy s---. i think audio technica is faaaaaaaaaaaaaar better than those, but still ridiculously overpriced and flat out unnecessary 99% of the time no, that's literally the point of a good mix/master. s--- should sound great across most, if not all platforms.
Jan 23, 2016 That's probably b/c nobody knows who you are and those who don't like your music doesn't know how to explain why Idk thoguh since ive never heard anything I mgiht check it out later but i gtg now Also you literally can't try to make a sub bassline work for s--- audio. If you eq up the harmonies too much it's just gonna sound like farts and if you move it up an octave it's just going to lose its destructive force. I wasn't hyperboling anything when i said NOTHING comes close to the earthquake of a 20-25 hz bassline on a good sub.
Jan 23, 2016 BTW I definitely recommend vmodas headphones, they're all extremely well built and sound amazing
Jan 23, 2016 i used to ude the skullcandy aviators, but moved to the audio technicas after 3 years my brother uses vmoda headphones too!
