Feb 12, 2015 Really? two best street singles ever? Wont even have to go to other artists' discog, BDKMV is >>>>>>>> TBTB, and untitled
Feb 12, 2015 he said: "will be better than GKMC potentially better than MBDTF and Illmatic as well." He said potentially for MBDTF and Illmatic, not GKMC. And also GKMC is best rap album of the last five years no question this guy says this new album will be better. Sorry but I don't see it having the same impact.
Feb 12, 2015 it might not be better but it will have a bigger impact just based on how big he is now compared to before
Feb 12, 2015 They started piecing Untitled together the night before the performance... This s--- is going to be beyond next-level.
Feb 12, 2015 i feel like i've already read this thread more than once before and yet somehow it was only made today
Feb 12, 2015 tbh he is a legend to me. he has made 4 great projects. KLEP 8.3 OD 8.5 SECTION80 9.5 GKMC 9 so no matter what hes in my top five. hes got more music than biggie lmao
Feb 12, 2015 I'm hoping it's nowhere near like gKMc to be honest. Disliked it highly. It's a concept album that really can't stand on it's own two feet outside of the running narrative. Not a fan of his earlier work either, but Section 80 is a verifiable classic. If I could perhaps get another one of those, he would s---t up my list of current greats exponentially. As it stands, he's going the "eccentric" route, like many of the silly folk before him. Mos Def and Lupe come to mind. Wherein their projects just keep getting progressively more idealistic/preachy/abrasive/mood listens before their audience begins to dwindle. So for now I'll just bump this Spiteful chant and hope for the best.
Feb 12, 2015 this is how i'm feeling m8. If the new album's another classic Kenny gonna be stealing my number 1 spot for favorite artist. Section.80/GKMC/new album SSLP/MMLP/TES
Feb 13, 2015 MBDTF was the best album of the best five years actually fa----. untitled and blacker the berry are better than 4/5 of the songs on GKMC which are all good. what's the problem with my drake avy cuntboy
Feb 13, 2015 If this is as good or better then GKMC then kendrick might slot into the top 5 for me. Section 80 is a classic by the way.
Feb 13, 2015 How do we put the kabosh on this blasphemous? Do you have ears or stubs? Is death penalty viable option for this guy? Are you a Soulja Boy fan? Did you grow up on scratched chalkboards? Your MIND aint right.
Feb 13, 2015 I think it will most definitely be better than GKMC tbh. Also, I'm gonna go against what @PriceAintRight said about growing more eccentric. The fact that he's getting weirder and more alienating is awesome. I don't want highly accessible s--- that my mom can hear and go "ooh who is this" that s--- is played out we need more dudes who just dont give a f--- about sales or what some uneducated n----- on a forum thinks and just do their music. That's why dudes like 50 Cent and Drake I acknowledge their GOATness but personally am not a Stan because they never take any risks and do something that caused anyone to go "wait what". We need more Yeezus', Owl Pharaoh's, Because The Internet's, etc. More albums that care about the art more than the casual listener.
Feb 13, 2015 No, this album will NOT be as good as Good Kid M.A.A.d City. That doesn't mean the next album won't be great. Everyone needs to relax. If you keep comparing the new album to GKMC you're going to be very disappointed. Kendrick will forever be known for his classic creation of GKMC. An album like that doesn't come around often, and it's such a masterpiece that it can't be topped. GKMC holds a very special place in my heart. I have so many memories listening to that album for the first couple of times that I will treasure forever. It is because of this that I believe that I will never experience an album like this from Kendrick Lamar. Even till this day every time I listen to GKMC it's like I'm listening to it for the first time. The magic hasn't worn off. The album concept, the stories, the lyrics, the production, the artwork, even the title of the album...everything was a beautiful piece of art. Again, I'm not saying Kendrick's upcoming albums won't be great. I'm sure his new projects will be amazing, and he will definitely drop another classic. However, he set the standard so high with GKMC that it's nearly impossible to reach a high point like that again. Everyone needs to understand that Kendrick's major label debut was a project he had been working on his whole life. I advise everyone to stop expecting so much from Kenny on this new album. Otherwise you'll spend the remaining years of his career in search for another GKMC, and you will continuously be disappointed. I wish I was wrong. If theres anyone who can top a great album like GKMC though, it's Kendrick Lamar. Nevertheless, he will go down as a top 5 MC of all time.
