    Views is a make or break album for him, if it's trash then he falls into the average rapper category.

    It's going to be the best album of his career though, so we don't have to worry about that.

    I mean, Drake has never really been strong when it comes to putting together albums. At the same time, it's very unlikely that this album sucks completely. If anything, it'll be forgettable like IYRTITL at worst.

    Just curious, what songs didn't you like?

    My thoughts on the project: IYRT is a good tape, but in no way is it in the same league as NWTS or Take Care for me. A lot of people compare it to NWTS because Drake really ran with the Started/Worst flow on IYRT, but being a tape, IYRT lacks the finesse and fluidity of NWTS. Beyond that, it lacks the balance that Drake gave us on NWTS.

    But it's a collection of (a lot of very good) throwaways, so in no way do I use IYRT as an indicator of what to expect on Views like some people on this site do.

    I don't think IYRT is any indicator as to what Views will sound like either. I recall Drake himself saying it's more of a collection of songs than anything and that they didn't go through the same process that they do when they make a legit 'album.'

    My gut reaction with the album was that it was too bloated and every song sounds the same. Then it grew on me a lot, then it fizzled out quick and I stand by the 'bloated' part of my original thoughts. I think it would be a pretty solid album if it was something like this:

    Legend
    Energy
    10 Bands
    Know Yourself
    No Tellin'
    6 God
    Star67
    Preach
    Now & Forever (forgot I liked this one, shoutout @Jet for reminding me)
    Jungle

    Agreed, except I would add You & The 6.

    Otherwise I'm with you. Whenever I revisit the tape (which admittedly isn't often, but that isn't a bad thing) it's those first 5 songs and then the gems like 'Preach' that he has sprinkled over the rest.

    It's a good tape that could have been cut down to make a good album.

    Edit: Oh, and I would include '6PM in New York' as a bonus cut, or just move it up the tracklist somewhere as 'Jungle' is a perfect outro.

    I will say that's the one thing I never understood..like why the f--- wa it so unnecessarily long? if he cut out the lowest tracks it would've been a GREAT album

    but mind you, I still think it's VERY good off the strength of the elite songs on there

    and random but idk what it is about 6pm why I never find myself listening to it lol

    edit: shoutout @Narsh tho, madonna finally grew on me. it's one of those songs you just have to be listening to at the right time to appreciate it (still definitely among the weaker jawns)

    And also, there are no real bad tracks on it either.

    It's good as a tape, but it would def need some work to be considered a good album.
