Sep 21, 2017 SFTM has more votes than I expected. TIC is expected, but I swore I usually hear more praise for Say Goodbye Hollywood or White America. Anyway good on that song since its the one I voted for. Its one of his few songs related to actual social issues that doesn't come across as either uninformed or satirical. Its a delightfully clear and well-composed message on a broader issue than he usually writes about. When he talks about his past, upbringing, family issues, school life, or addiction and relationships, those come from a place of experience and I think as a result he's very familiar with how to construct concepts and messages that are poignant and serious since they read like confessionals or a diary. SFTM is pretty unique in that it informs, more-so than criticizes, the burden of entertainers as influences to impressionable people. In a way this comes from a place of experience for him as well, but the scope of the discussion is much broader in this song and I think, superbly executed. It tackles a more complicated issue than relatively juvenile takes on politics (Mosh, Campaign Speech) or free speech (Who Knew, White America). The latter two are great songs in their own right but I think SFTM is more nuanced. Other songs that I think might fit this description of broader social issues discussed earnestly would include We As Americans and maybe Rock Bottom, but its hard to really think of many more that fit the description I'm trying to describe. I don't think I really even painted a very clear picture of what I was trying to get across and now theres just a big wall of text there that no one is going to read fml too much coffee
Sep 21, 2017 If till I collapse got a video it would of been the biggest rap song of all time... Period.
Sep 21, 2017 Going with sing for the moment because I hated it because it had a rock beat so I never heard the actual song until my cousin was like listen to it it's dope and I listened, and loved it. This was in 2002 btw
Sep 21, 2017 I voted on Sing for the moment overall think all songs on this album are listenable tunes like SGBTHW, Soldier, Superman & business as also for non official released songs from that era like Stimulate and the Unreleased Everybody's looking at me that never made it to the Wash Soundtrack but used some parts in a freestyle
