Feb 2, 2021 this is truly one of the greatest rap albums of all time in my opinion. When clipse gets brought up I feel like it’s normally in the context of grindin but anyone who listened to this album could clearly see this is their opus. To some of the best Neptune’s beats of all time, to amazing verses from push and malice, to overall feeling it is truly a classic. Let’s show our respects. Found a copy at the record store the other day and I did full soy face. Instant cop. funny thing to note is that this album directly pipelines to us finding out drake had a hidden blonde haired child with a pornstar mother 12 years later. I love this s--- Any more examples of albums like this? Classics that don’t get spoken of enough?
Feb 2, 2021 -E1999 Eternal by Bone Thugs N Harmony -The Diary by Scarface -Miss E...So Addictive by Missy Elliot -Regulate...G Funk Era by Warren G -Muddy Waters by Redman
Feb 2, 2021 Westside Connection - Bow Down d--- they had such great chemistry. Shame there's tension between Cube and Mack.
Feb 2, 2021 That bone thugs album is a big one. It’s so f---ing good. I wasn’t alive at the time, but to my understanding both the group and this album were f---ing huge so it’s surprising it doesn’t get brought up more often. Got a little bit of praise from purpp and his run off but still not as much as it should. I think I owe it a relisten
Feb 2, 2021 NWTS It gets constantly overshadowed by Take Care but is a fantastic record with no filler.
Feb 2, 2021 I think HHNF is quite widely hailed as a classic. Lord Willin too. Its the same for a lot of 2000s classics that people have forgotten, I guess because they're not as recent as 10's classics or have had as much time to settle as 90s classics.
Feb 2, 2021 This is probably my second or thrid favorite album of all time. Love their first two albums.
Feb 2, 2021 Mos Def's "The New Danger" is rarely talked about but I think it's great. The ecstatic is more well known and and amazing album by it's own right. The only album of his that really missed was true magic
Feb 2, 2021 this is an interesting thought though, what are the 2000's classics that don't seem to get brought up the classic conversation any more? imo: First 2 Clipse albums Ghostface Killah - Fishscale Jeezy - TM101 T.I. - could take your pick between Trap Muzik, Urban Legend or King Cam'ron - Purple Haze plenty others I'm sure i'm forgetting
Feb 2, 2021 NERD- In Search Of is pretty good too. The 2 fugees albums are great too. Eazy E's Str8 off tha Streetz of Muthaphukkin Compton is also not talked about enough
Feb 2, 2021 Yeah that’s pretty much it. I’ve never heard a bad thing spoken about it. When it gets brought up, people praise the h--- out of it. I just don’t find it gets brought up that often. Maybe it’s my fault for expecting too much out of casuals
Feb 2, 2021 The cover art alone is so iconic... it’s etched into my mind for eternity. I’ve been going back to mos def songs a lot lately after his verse on navy blues album
Feb 2, 2021 All great choices. King is my favourite TI album, I used to play it on repeat when I was like 10. I feel like purple haze gets brought up often though. I think it’s his biggest album based on name recognition. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: SDE is my favourite cam album. It’s the perfect mix of confessions of fire and come home with me. The guy is a perfect example of someone who dumbed himself down to appeal to the masses, and I do not mean that in a bad way at all
Feb 3, 2021 Yeah I guess Purple Haze is still widely recognized as his opus. I love everything Cam dropped from Confessions of Fire all the way to Killa Season.
Feb 3, 2021 And Then There Was X. Idk but people tend to not mention DMX in the classic albums discussion. Actually his previous 2 albums are also classics. Oh and Islah by Kevin Gates NO DEBATE
