When You Realize Eminem Hasn't Dropped Anything Great in 15 Years

Kind of crazy when you think about it.

Eminem has to have one of the most loyal fan bases out there.

There is no denying Eminem's best years were between 1999 to about 2002/2003. After that it has been a constant decline with ups and downs. Encore was bad but it still had a few glimpses of greatness.

He's had some gems here and there since then but nothing consistent or close to what he was dropping in the early 2000s.

For me Recovery and some of the stuff he did around that time, collabs with Wayne, Drake in 2009 have been solid. Although not to the level of what he did in his prime, it was good.

Anything after that. From MMLP2 to Kamikaze has been garbage to me. Can't stand his tone, his flow etc.. There is literally nothing, not even one song that he's made since the Recovery era that I have relistened to.

It's fair to say at this point that he is done and that he has been for a pretty long time. It's been a good ride though.

In general I agree but I think he did more decent - good since recovery than people give him credit for on here.

He changed his style tho so its not weird that some people don't like it at all

good that I ignored this guy what a bs post. Sorry but just because you don't like an artist it doesn't make that artist any bad at all. I think Eminem dropped many great songs in 15 years, so does many people who actually listens to Em. It's like me going thru all the trouble to say Kanye didn't drop anything great since MBDTF on a Kanye SXN and it's even more stupid when you consider Eminem has a lot more popularity, more likes and fans... I barely liked handful of Kanye songs after MBDTF but that doesn't make saying Kanye didn't drop smh great since MBDTF sound any reasonable. The best song on world has some haters, just because 1 person outta 1000 say smh sucks doesn't make it a fact or anything. So again what a bs post :D

yeah, he hasn't been the same in a long time. but this isn't uncommon. there's plenty of legendary artists with several average or below albums in their catalog. this sort of downfall is inevitable if an artist puts out enough music

    - When I’m Gone
    - his songs on The Re-Up
    - a quarter of relapse
    - forever and drop the world
    - a quarter of recovery
    - airplanes II
    - a couple songs of HtS
    - bad guy fourth verse, evil twin
    - entirety of mmlp2 bonus disc
    - shady XV songs minus title song
    - southpaw songs
    - Believe
    - chloraseptic remix
    - kamikaze minus good guy/nice guy
    - kill shot

Decent amount of material. Everyone looking for everything to be perfect from him has to remember that even his classics had their flaws.

I sometimes wonder if there is any artist that people focus so much on to find flaws (or reasons to defend a shitty verse on the other hand).

Kanye also fell off according to people and the Kanye stans also defend him whenever he drops average stuff. Same w other artists. Its normal.

But w eminem its literally every word that gets nitpicked both positive and negative its hilarious. He's either terrible or amazing.

The songs u posted say exactly what my opinion of him has been for years: hit or miss. Not terrible, not great, just average w very low and high points. But people, stans and people that -claim to- hate them can't move on and accept that he isn't 2001 m&m anymore

Sorry, just cause you like an artist and can type up a paragraph of inane rambling like a schizophrenic dipshit doesn't mean Eminem is good. Autistic c-nt.

As I said, loyal fan base.

Nobody goes to Eminem concerts to listen to Revival garbage. They go to hear his classics.

Eminem's songs/verses probably get scrutinized more because of his popularity and the fact that most of the songs he writes are either very personal or outrageous and contraversial.

Personally, I think his lows have been lower than a lot of artists. But that could also be due to the fact that his highs have also been better than most artists so the expectations are higher.

But if you take for example Lose Yourself, which is widely regarded as a classic and compare it to something like Big Weenie. It's pretty hard to fathom that it was the same artist who wrote both songs.

Sorry you feel that way about kami.

I haven’t listened to MMLP2 in a long time... maybe I will but I think it still holds up as a solid album bare minimum. Nowhere near flawless or classic, but just alright.

Some of his features in the last decade have been some of the worst of his career. No favours, twerk dat...
