Nope, I have no idea who Lil Boosie is. What the f--- is this? Obviously I know who he is, I'm not getting him confused with anyone. Just because he is putting out more music now then he ever has doesn't mean its reaching anyone and anyone cares.
Well I asked you what you take into consideration when you put your list together? One big thing for me is how relevant the artist is.
Yung Lean is more relevant than Lil Boosie is right now.

I didn't say you talked about relevance, I did, I was just telling you he's a little known artist and he doesn't have many fans

    Dude get your arguments straight.

You started off by saying he's only had like one or two songs since he's been out. You were wrong about that, hence me following up with the fact that he had entire album come out as well.

NONE of us ever brought up his relevancy. Even WPG didn't, until you did. So stop that bs -- stick to one argument at a time.

Well this is the "10 best rappers in the world" so I pretty take into consideration if they've been actively recently and how good their material is.

So with that set of criteria, you still think Yung f---ing Lean is better than Boosie I'm gonna have to cut this convo off.

    1. I dont care
    2. He's not.

Yung Lean is treated as a joke rapper in literally 95% of social circles. He's the kind of rappers my more straight edge friends will show me as a way to light heartedly clown on psychedelics

NO ONE cares that his newer material is more serious. Seriously, like no one.

    thanks for the update

Sorry your reading comprehension is s--- mate. I said he released a few songs after he was released from jail and people didn't care after those few songs.

I'm well aware that none of you brought up his relevance, I did, then you all got pissy when I said it.

There are subsets of genres in hip hop. Yung Lean has a niche and no one makes music like he does. I'm sorry you're unable to see that. He is one of the most interesting and original characters in hip hop right now.

Obviously Boosie and Lean don't make the same type of music but if I had to pick one over the other for musical enjoyment it would be Lean all day.
Lean used to be a joke rapper now with Unknown Memory people are taking him seriously. More people care about Leans more serious material than Boosie's.

and im still saying that he also released an album after getting out of jail, and people did care about that.

    so whats your point again?

there are definitely artists who make music like him. and being unique doesn't make you immune to criticsm.

    What's his character again?

and where are you pulling this from?

imagine being duped into thinking yung lean is anything but a weird autistic kid with no original thoughts. @Narsh, that's who you're trying to argue with.

Jesus Christ man! How many times do I have to make the same point about Boosie before you will understand it. Some people cared about him when he went to jail. Then in jail every rapper started shouting him out #FreeBoosie and s--- then few more people cared. Then he came out prison had a few features that some people cared about. Now no one cares about him North or West of the Mason-Dixon line. Clear enough for you?

There are people who make music in the same sub category of rap as him, "cloud rap" but no one sounds like Lean.
I never said being unique makes you immune to criticism, if anything it brings more. Case in point. People hate what they don't understand. People don't understand why people like Lean so they hate him for it.

His character is being a goofy son of a b---- who smokes and clowns with his goons.

Obviously they make diff music. On the point of more people caring about Lean than Boosie. Lean can travel the world on tour because people like his music. Boosie isn't gonna be touring the world anytime soon.

first of all, this isn't true, and it shows how out of touch with hip-hop you are. yung lean was a novelty act who will have half-ironic white hipster fans for three more years then be forgotten completely. boosie is a cult hero who can and will continue to play all over the world. saying he's not a big deal outside of the south is objectively false. it's literally not true. no matter how much you pound your probably acne-riddled head against the wall, you can't make this true.

second, that doesn't matter. this list was about who is the BEST right now, not the biggest.

Not recognizing Lean for being original and marginalizing him to being a joke rapper with autistic fans says a lot about you and how out of touch with hip hop you are. Having to stoop down to petty insults to protect your point of view is pretty sad.

Ok he has fans above the Mason-Dixon line, obviously that is true but to call him a top 10 rapper in 2015 is bad. Branch out, listen to something other than washed up southern rappers who are past their prime

I was talking about future and lil herb being trap rappers, I went on to clarify that billy isn't a trap rapper and is a good writer and lyricist but you just completely ignore things that don't fit into whatever your stupid argument is.

    Never said booze wasn't famous.

Never said lean is a genius.

So you can stop putting fake quotes around things you made up. You are literally making things up just to argue with me. :laff: how pathetic

no but your argument against boosie boils down to "he isn't as famous in buffalo as he is in baton rouge"

keep telling me to listen to more music. broaden my horizons for me :'(

you told a guy who's list has bronson, gates, young thug, freddie gibbs, billy woods, open mike eagle, and boosie to branch out

all under the pretense of championing yung lean as some sort of super interesting "character" in hip hop

    honestly, f--- off

My argument is Boosie is only well known in the south. Yes he's famous but that doesn't mean he's top 10 and is relevant or people care about his music.

I said it once. If you want I could tell you again you weird mother f---er
