Nov 30, 2018 TES is just decent and SSLP is average ??? If SSLP is average, you are either never actually witnessed the release of that album and born after 2000 or every album except handful of albums are just average... I won't listen to SSLP now but I believe I have bumped it more than all the Kendrick's albums combined to this day and I used to bump d--- in the car non stop.
Nov 30, 2018 The better question is who has the best first 3 albums. I think marginally Eminem does but I think Kendrick will obvs produce better and more consistent music throughout the 2nd tenure of his career. SSLP - 8/10 Section80 - 8.5/10 MMLP - 9/10 GKMC - 9/10 TES - 9/10 TPAB - 7/10 Edit: Before anyone says anything I know section80 was a mixtape but it feels like an album to me.
Nov 30, 2018 Actually agree with that sentiment. I would change the scores a bit but I also think that Kendrick will be more constistent.
Nov 30, 2018 GTFO lol. He makes albums that most rappers dream of making. FEEL and ELEMENT up there with the classic songs.
Nov 30, 2018 Overall, probably Kendrick, just because his discography has been much more consistent so far.
Nov 30, 2018 Best overall discographies in rap... 1. A Tribe Called Quest 2. Kanye West 3. Kendrick Lamar 4. Outkast I love Em, but he’s not in this same convo musically to me. He’s the better rapper, though.
Nov 30, 2018 Seriously guys. Kendrick just have 3 studio albums. If Em had 3 studio albums %80 of you would say Em's discography is better. We should wait for few more albums by Kendrick to really make a comparison. But at the end I believe Kendrick will always have the better discography anyway. Because he will never be under the drug influence so badly to make an Encore or he will never be that guy people loves to hate to be popular for a better half of his career. We'll see tho.
Nov 30, 2018 Kendrick really has four albums, technically five. And he even has a basically lost tapes album that’s better than any album Em has put out besides Recovery and Kamikaze since 2002. At this point in Em’s career compared to Kendrick he was putting out D12 World and Encore. Kendrick is better.
Nov 30, 2018 College Dropout, Late Registration, Graduation, 808s, MBDTF, and WTT are all amazing albums tho.
Nov 30, 2018 Sxn80 and that soundtrack ? I don't think soundtrack was any better than relapse or recovery. Sxn80 is not a studio album. And I don't really like it that much anyway but that's very unpopular I know. If we are counting those we should count em's 8 mile and devils night too lol. And BTW Eminem on devils night is better than Kendrick ever was to me. But Kendrick has the better discography for now I can agree to that it's just I don't think it makes sense to compare them now.
Nov 30, 2018 Section.80 is a studio album. It was recorded as one cohesive work. They just call it a mixtape because legal reasons. And no, not talking Black Panther. I’m talking about untitled unmastered.
Dec 1, 2018 It's a mixtape after all. Untitled unmastered is not studio album neither. If em would have released his leftovers from mmlp or tes he would have had his own untitled unmastered...
Dec 4, 2018 Eminem, easily. Sure he's dropped more albums than Kendrick, but Em's first three compared to Kendrick's first 3 albums? No competition. Em destroys him. Relapse and Recovery were pretty good imo. Revival is the only album that f---s up his discography. Encore has 3 songs with high replay value (Like Toy Soldiers, Encore, Mockingbird) as it grew on me through the years. MMLP2 grew on me as well. I don't have to talk about his first 3 albums though, we all know they were legendary. And to top it all off, Kamikaze > d---. We all know Kendrick's last album was all hype and it didn't meet up to its expectations. There's only two songs that I play on that album (DNA and Humble), the rest were mediocre.
