Apr 18, 2017 It basically said that Drake serves as an ambassador for rap and makes it more accessible to a wider range of people. Kendrick feeds the core of it once you get in essentially.
Apr 18, 2017 its a good slightly symbiotic relationship they have. However I feel like Kendrick is on the cusp of getting Drake's demographic if he continues in the direction of songs like Love. or God.
Apr 18, 2017 Like how Kendrick dropped GKMC, gained a massive fan base to and so made the message of TPAB more accessible and more widely available, Drake's status at the top of music in general really means that if he were to make insightful and thought-provoking music, it would have a crazy impact - 'I would have all of your fans if I stayed on some conscious s---'. I would love Drake to touch on more social issues tbh, race, sex, whatever.
Apr 18, 2017 Exactly. I think it's good on both ends. And I also agree with you on K. dot taking Drake's wide appeal.
Apr 18, 2017 Kendrick is shrinking the margin...even Drake fans and the like are really warming up to Kendrick due to this whole 'savior of rap' phenomenon that's been developing for a few years now Kendrick is starting to transcend rap is what I'm saying
Apr 18, 2017 The video in OP brings forth a question of in what ways is each artist pushing the culture forward. I don't see why people get so upset over these kind of topics. Especially when Rap culture itself is all about challenging, bettering, uplifting and expressing yourself.
