Jul 16, 2016 When I was a kid, I was a big Shaq fan. Even though Ewing was the Gawd and the Knicks were my team, Shaq just represented the future and something bigger than just being an athlete. He was involved in music, had his own video game, toys, was in movies. And it's not like he was exceptional in all of these fields but the fact that he had the nerve to have his hand in so many things was dope. I had his jersey, I had a Magic Starter jacket (as well as a Knicks one). It's a shame that he never got a title with the Magic but he definitely earned it with the Lakers and Heat. Now, when I used to play basketball as a kid, I always wanted to emulate Penny or Tim Hardaway with the handles. Tim had the legendary crossover. I always respected Jordan but he always killed my Knicks in the playoffs so it didn't make much sense rooting for him even though everybody wanted to be Jordan on the basketball court.
