Jun 29, 2016 Personally I think he's gonna sign a 1 year deal with the Thunder and enter free agency again next year with Westbrook, but from listening to what he's said, he's not interested in doing this again. Where do you guys think he'll land? @NBAsxn
Jun 29, 2016 GS would be great to watch, but he'd prolly face more backlash than LeBron did for going to a team that came back and beat him in the playoffs. Of course, if he wins the title there that s--- doesn't really matter, I just don't think KD is wired that way. I wouldn't sleep on NY. KD/Melo/Rose/Porzingis is a very unique core who would almost certainly make it to the ECF.
Jun 29, 2016 Yeah no matter where he signs he's gonna sign a 2 year max with a 1 year player option. He wants wherever he goes to be a longterm home, and that's why I don't think the Thunder will resign him. I think (obviously could be wrong) that Westbrook is gonna walk after next season and that Kevin Durant either knows or highly assumes. If he wants his decision to be for the longterm, why resign and play with Westbrook for one year? He'd be forced to leave or not be a title contender, and I think that's an easy decision for him. I really think he considers playing for Golden State for less money. Before the Wade and Whiteside contract speculation I thought Miami had a shot at him but there's no way he'll sign if they're gone. I really wanted to see him in the East, but I don't think it's gonna happen unless the Celtics can somehow get him. (if they get Howard, they have a legit shot) I think he realizes the way they play out in Golden State and how him, Curry, and Thompson are gonna outscore entire teams every night while Draymond has a hay day doing all the dirty work. That team would be insane. Maybe the Spurs, but idk about him, kawhi, and aldridge. That'd look and possibly work weird. Spoiler I'm so ripped rn sorry if this makes no sense
Jun 29, 2016 I agree and its why I think he'll stay in OKC atleast for a year. GSW is unlikely and as you said his reputation would go down the drain New York is always a mess and Phil hasn't brought any big names in. Rose played 66 games last year and that was seen as a huge success also had mid level pg numbers...
Jun 29, 2016 Dawg I would be ecstatic if he played 66 for the rest of his career lmao. Would've been 68 if he didn't sit the last 2 after the Bulls were eliminated. Last year was really encouraging, specifically after Christmas. He played the 1st 2 months of the season with basically 1 eye and put up mostly awful numbers save for some big games vs the Cavs/Thunder/Pacers. Despite that he finished the year with 16-5 on 43% shooting (equal to or higher than Lillard, Lowry, Conley, Kemba, and IT). Melo & Porzingis are the main draws in NY, Derrick is just a bonus. PJ inherited an absolute mess and turned it into KP, D Rose, and a bunch of cap space. Not a lot of better GM options than the zen master.
Jun 29, 2016 Riley basically clinched Bron in Miami when he dropped his rings on the table, how's KD gonna say no when Phil drops his 11 and the table collapses??
Jun 29, 2016 @Mike Tyson I can include Raptors if you want bruh sorry. Just read this from Woj, says the Warriors have basically been in Duran'ts ear all season. "Here's the thing that's interesting about Golden State: their players have been recruiting Kevin Durant all year," said Wojnarowski. "It goes back to earlier in the season when the Thunder were struggling. I don't know that Golden State saw them as a peer or as a threat. They weren't playing great. They were in that mid-range in the west. "Kevin Durant was hearing from guys on the Warriors about 'hey, you can help take the pressure off Steph Curry. We need you.' "This was when they were running off win after win after win. They had him on their mind. It appealed to him. "It's text messages, it's a lot of that. But the communication with some of the players of Golden State and Kevin, that's not just starting now."
Jun 29, 2016 Nobody is factoring in the Spurs. Out of all teams that want him, I think the Spurs have the highest chance. He's most likely going to stay with OKC, though.
Jun 29, 2016 lmao we're never gonna get him, idk if we're even gonna get my boy DeRozan hahahahah. i agree, he does a 1+1 in OKC imo.
Jun 29, 2016 I'm surprised you didn't include Houston @Poohdini. I know it's more unlikely then not, but there have been a good amount of reports that the Rockets are interested and that Harden even said he's been discussing the matter with Durant himself. Now, as a Houston fan, I would love for us to acquire Durant. Unfortunately, I just don't really see that happening. I think he'll either sign a 1 year with OKC or go to the Knicks (as much as that would s---, if they got him that team would have mad potential).
Jun 29, 2016 I think he most likely stays in OKC, but the next best chance imo would be the warriors then maybe the Spurs. Then I'd give the Celtics a small chance as a long shot.
Jun 29, 2016 Honestly during the season I thought Houston would be a contender for him, but word is he isn't even considering them. If we're being real, this is ultimately about rings...pride would be the only thing keeping him from going to GS. Stay in OKC for your legacy Go to GS/SA for rings, KD & Kawhi would be ruthless NY for the challenge of bringing a title to MSG
Jun 29, 2016 i love how NBA players are sticking it to the owners by taking 1+1 max deals lol. lebron is a goat for forcing dan gilbert to pay the luxury tax
Jun 29, 2016 I believe San Antonio is his best option to get rings, be a team leader, and to help build a team as that leader.
Jun 29, 2016 We gonna lose Whiteside anyways, so use that money to get Durant, Pat Riley! But he'll probably just take a 1+1 deal with OKC and decide next year tbh.
Jun 29, 2016 I doubt he's coming here to NYC. Would love to see him on the Knicks but he's got it better in OKC. He's either staying in OKC or going to GS.
