Oct 29, 2016 Messi's first contract was signed on a napkin (true story) Now he gets 500k euro's a week (before tax anyways)
Oct 29, 2016 Aussie Rules Football should really be as famous as NFL but it's not. It's leagues above watching Rugby or Soccer imo.
Nov 2, 2016 There's a dude at my job who is from Portugal, and has always hated on American football with a straight biased view. I introduced him to football and the guy loves it and can't believe he hated on it for so long. The athletes of the NFL are freaks of nature. They're the biggest, fastest, strongest athletes in the entire world. Soccer is a skill-set sport, while american football encompasses everything that it takes to be an athlete. As @Worm already said, most of the reason that the rest of the world doesn't play it is because of the cost of equipment.
Nov 2, 2016 A lot of other countries always like to point to rugby as a "real man's sport" Rob Gronkowski alone would scare the f--- out of rugby players lmao. Dude is 6'7, 285 pounds, and faster than any rugby player
Nov 2, 2016 "omgg, my fav football player is so sexy he is so much better than every rugby player I know, he is so big wow" like ok man, thats not what we talk about. Soccer is easier to play, all you need is basically 4 guys, a ball and some space. Plus for me it's way more enjoyable, I like thorwing the football ball, but this whole running 50m just to get hit is exhausting, but sure it's entertaining to watch. Soccer is not even my fav sport to play
Nov 2, 2016 Never understood the stop and go argument because there are multiple big/exciting/game changing plays each game, opposed to soccer where you're lucky if there's two
Nov 2, 2016 I think it's harder to begin playing it (equipment, athletism, etc.), but in the end soccer is harder to master, because it's so much skill-based.
Nov 2, 2016 Lol, that explains why football YouTube highlights are so popular. Comparing a game that stops every few seconds to a constant back and forth battle. Its almost as r-----ed as suggesting that putting the most athletic people in football academies will somehow make them better than messi, as if america hasn't already been funding academies for years. Imagine me saying that Blake and bolt , two of histories fastest men, and two of our best athletes would be the two best cricketers of all time if they played it . Oh wait, they actually both grew up playing cricket . but weren't as good at it than the much less athletic brathwaite who plays for the west indies. Imagine looking at the mls, a league dominated by semi retired oldies, and thinking " hey, maybe all these athletic nfl players could be better than this skimpy italian" and not be laughed at for so blatantly missing the point. Oh, and soccer players are athletic you idiots, maybe the american ones are all skinny pieces of s---. But believe it or not, most players have to have a level of physicality to play the game, unless they have the skill to compensate.
Nov 2, 2016 Quit quoting me. I'm not reading your s---. For one you've never watched football in your life and two you're an incompetent jackass
Nov 2, 2016 Pretty simple, European Football is s global game that ppl all over the world play, and American Football isn't.
Nov 2, 2016 I stopped giving a s--- about this years ago, I've played competitive soccer my entire life and you learn to really respect any and all athletes no matter the sport since the training and mental aspect of it is incredibly demanding. Football can certainly--and is--growing in popularity in other countries. I think it's more sociological stigmas from people across the globe have about the USA, that and other sports like Rugby have long standing traditions and are hard to really replace.
Nov 2, 2016 I have, and while its exciting, it lacks intricacy. So the NFL has no ray hudsons. Says the r----- who thinks drugged up jocks could be better than neymar.
