There's literally 3 dozen additional sources (some of them being by FEMINISTS THEMSELVES) within.

I totally agree regarding the word "feminism," it definitely turns people off from it and is what causes people to associate it with tumblrinas.

If I didn't know any better, I'd swear the word originated on tumblr.

Personally, I lost absolutely all respect for the feminist movement as soon as they began that "you can't be racist to white people, you can't be sexist to men" bs.

You can't generalize all feminists to a vocal minority on tumblr.

This isn't exclusive to Tumblr, this is being pushed by major media corporations (MTV, for example).

Women have every opprotunity to make more than a man doing the exact same job with the exact same qualifications.

If the reason that woman is getting paid less is because of sheer discrimination, she has a right to confront her employer and take legal action. ( I assume you would be able to bring legal action )..

And doesn't it figure that the gap closes in fields which more women tend to pursue. Almost as if these statistics are generalizations, which aren't very useful in reaching this conclusion.

For example, can anyone guess how gargantuan the gap is in waste management? Or for the other side, how about the gap in modeling and fashion?

And I do agree . I was brought up to think men and women had separate jobs. That's not necessarily a bad thing though.

    http://fortune.com/2015/07/15/male-models-pay/

Oh look, females out-earn males in the modeling industry by 148%. Guess it's time for men to completely disregarded the blatantly obvious reason this gap exists, and start whining about how it's not the fact that less men pursue this career option that's the reason the gap exists, but rather "outside factors" which "prevent men from participating".

If less of your gender pursues a particular career, the gap in pay is going to reflect against your gender. It's really that simple. The same reasons behind why women earn 148% more in the modeling industry, apply to why men out-earn women in numerous other fields, such as engineering (which tends to be one of the higher-paying fields). Because men and women have different interests, and make different choices.

    It's really that simple.

Want to close the gap? Take away women's right to choice. Go to any University in the entire United States, enter the less-valued courses such as nursing, sociology, or *ugh* gender studies. Count the women, count the men, and compare numbers. I guarantee the majority, will be women. Women who CHOSE that particular course.

Honestly, I don't even care about changing the minds of people who believe this is an issue. The only point I'm really seeing here is an implication that women make bad choices, and that needs to be changed.

This is for all the outside people who haven't yet made a stance on this. It's up to them to determine which side is more logical.

And clearly, when looking at feminists'support numbers, this is very swiftly working against feminists. 18% support as of 2015 (in the US, last I checked European support lies at 7%). More and more people decide that the stance opposite of feminists' is more reasonable, thus more and more people withdraw their support for feminism. There's a very good reason feminists are so increasingly unpopular lately.
