Nov 30, 2015 For a long time I've wondered why Andre 3000 has always seemed to get more critical acclaim and praise than Big Boi as a rapper. Big Boi played an equally important part in Outkast's music and success as Andre 3000, but yet 3 Stacks always gets mentioned as one of the best rappers of all time. He is regularly seen in people's top 10 rappers list, whilst Big Boi is usually left out of that conversation. In terms of artistry, you could maybe argue that Andre 3000 might be more eclectic in terms of style and sound than Big Boi, but as a rapper/MC is he really that much better? Big Boi is also extremely talented on the mic. Please let me know what you think about Andre 3000 deserving more acclaim than Big Boi despite them both being important players in OutKast's success. I'm not saying that Andre doesn't deserve the acclaim he gets, I just find it weird that Big Boi doesn't receive such praise.
Nov 30, 2015 Big Boi is a GREAT rapper don't get me wrong...but Andre is a creative genius. That dude is the reason why Outkast was so acclaimed. The reason why he hasn't dropped a solo album is because people expect "Detox" greatness and that scares him to ruin his legacy. The only time Andre kinda disappointed was with "Idlewild", and even then it still was pretty nice....
Nov 30, 2015 But what qualities does he have that makes him a better rapper? What makes him that much greater than Big Boi? I'm only asking because I've never felt that Andre was completely more superior than Big Boi on Outkast albums.
Nov 30, 2015 The same reason people like Mel Gibson more than Danny Glover in Lethal Weapon: because Jews are the devil.
