Imagine the music world without Chicago's influence. I'll even take Chief Keef out of the mix because it's already known he's a legend.

Chicago has artist like Lil Durk, Lud Foe, G. Herbo, Lil Bibby, Young Pappy, Rondo, L.A Capone, Capo, 600Breezy, Famous Dex and so many more artist, so why does it not generate any attention outside of the killing? All of the talent in Chicago ends up dying because nobody gives them the attention they deserve in order to get out of Chiraq.

I'm just curious more or less why nobody f---ing with Chicago that's not from the mid west or a hype beast..

I'm aware of what genre they are, and most are mentioned because drill as a genre was originally created from Chicago based artist.

However, I've done some research over the past couple of weeks and discovered that the genre isn't really dead, just not as main stream since the whole Slim Jesus fiasco and artist like Montana of 300 cosigning his coonery, people started taking the genre more like a Kid In A Candy Store type feel, appose to a k--- You In The Streets type feel.

Now I'm for sure not saying that Slim Jesus single handed put a hold on the genre, I also feel like as a whole parties like Akademiks played a big role in the actual promotion globally of the genre, and where he's kinda stepped away from the whole War In Chiraq persona it's made promoting the genre a little harder for the artist who've stepped away from the drill scene. Chief Keef moving to LA, Famous Dex floating all over the f---ing place, Lil Durk floating everywhere, and No Limit basically promoting positive s--- over killing.

Outside of Chicago, nobody really knows that the genre exists anymore, and I'm really curious as too way they randomly just stopped f---ing with it once the media stopped covering it, especially the people who was previously already f---ing with these artist.

    Very good question honestly lol.

The entire Mouse Trap series has been f---ing incredible, and he's bee on so many other mix-tapes it's getting insane at this point. However I think this is another stand alone reason why Chicago artist struggle, because they feel nobody actually wants to purchase their work so they don't push it as hard.

I don't agree, I feel like the concept of them getting murdered should show how real the genre actually is, why can't someone spitting the same s--- 21 savage is spitting, doing the REAL s--- that 21 savage is claiming get the attention that 21 savage is getting? Why is the media obsessed with p-----s who claim they're with the s----s but really aren't?

But why wouldn't it? Let's think about it.

    - Reference points only being used here because I could rant literally for hours about the topic.

    - Kodak Black - LONG Stretch but listen to the lyrics in tracks he made previous to getting picked up by Drake and Chris Brown, he was very much influenced by artist from the Mid West and even credits Chief Keef numerous times in earlier tweets + tracks.

    - Lil Boosie - When Lil Boosie got out of prison he was INSTANTLY put onto drill music, in my opinion this is a grand father figure in the hip-hop genre, how come someone of his caliber is supporting the genre if he feels it wouldn't ever blow up?

    - NBA Young Boy - let's go a bit more new school now, the last track on 38 baby the mix tape references and I quote ' As a youngin had nothing ain't nobody wanna help All I wanted was some wealth I had to go get it myself I ain't never had a role model watched Chief Keef growing up '.

Essentially he says that Chief Keef played the role of a father figure for him growing up.

Now tell me, how does this look like a genre that didn't have potential? I've still not seen a valid answer as to why the entire scene doesn't get appreciation.
