To be fair I haven't given his last couple albums much of a chance cuz they bored me from the start, but I loved that song in high school lol

Cube was the only one of N.W.A. who could write. He has three solo classics as you pointed out, so I think he gets plenty of credit.

icecube West Coast is the Best Coast

He does from me. Except for that one song Drop Girl or whatever it's called and those 2 Are We There Yet movies.

Other than that I can't find any way to possibly criticise his hustle. The man is always keeping himself busy and trying different things. I won't ever be into the Big 3 and it annoys me that it takes him away from music and movies (seriously, I feel like Mike Epps in the skit on Laugh Now, Cry Later!). But again, I can't knock the guy for trying.

I enjoyed Everythangs Corrupt for what it was worth. Couldn't stand I Am The West though.
Same with all artists who came up in a certain category, I'd love them to revisit their roots. Could you imagine a new Cube album on some laid back Dre beats? Mix in some Kendrick, Game, Snoop etc and unreleased Nate vocals. Blend new West Coast with the old and you've got a hit. I think rappers in general as they get further I to their career try to do too much to please as many people as possible.

Cube definitely a legend in my eyes

He managed to k--- it in Music and then do the same with Movies at a high level, not many have been able to achieve his level of success.

I feel like he does get the respect he deserves. He’s just not a current artist that people bump. He was the west coast war lord. He’s just known more as a actor now.

i personally don't agree with the whole "bad albums tarnish a person's legacy" idea. i'm not saying Winter is wrong--i just think there are different ways of looking at it.

if an artist or group makes enough music, naturally they're going to have some albums that aren't so good. there are plenty of legendary artists/groups with MULTIPLE very forgettable albums in their discography. in my mind these artists/groups don't lose points just because they have some albums that we don't care to re-visit.

i mean outkast has like 6 albums and they're pretty d--- good.......but if they made 15 like some other rappers have.......then they'd probably have some pretty forgettable ones too.
