I thought it was definitely a step up from Revival but still the songs are not pleasing to the ear to me. Probably I'm just bored of Eminem's aggressive delivery in every single song and its been a long time since he's had a redeemable chorus. Also, all the songs beyond the critical rebuttals are unlistenable to me (good guy, bad guy, normal). Some of the beats are pretty good though.

Eminem won’t ever top several songs he did on encore. He hasn’t released any better songs since and never will. He completely fell off, delivery wise, things to rap about. He can’t stay on a beat with a smooth flow worth s---. Not interested in call of duty anthem songs for kids that seems to be the only thing he can do anymore.

I just don’t see how the stans or people who think Eminem still has some early 2000 type s--- in him saying Kamikaze was good just because it was better than revival. Honestly revival was the worst hip hop album I ever tried listening to. Just because Kamikaze wasn’t as terrible doesn’t make it good either. It was also a trash project. Deja Vu was the last song by him I can say I enjoyed. And I just pretend all those awful, embarrassing acapellas never happened.

Kamikaze is 8-9 of 10. A great album. Cant see any reason not to like it. Beats are good, delivery is great, rhymes, punchlines are unbelievably good. It has consistancy and no skipable tracks. Absolutely fantastic album and top 10 rap albums past decade. Eminem has topped every song on Encore several times over btw

Encore is absolute dogshit. Deja Vu alone is better than the entire album combined.

I think kamikaze gets both overrated and overhated itt as always w eminem.

Obviously its miles ahead of Revival lol. The production alone is a lot better.

The Ringer was a great opening song, but to me its more of a statement than a song I still listen to. Very well done but not a song I go back to a lot.
Greatest is nice. The fast s--- doesn't annoy me here.
    Nice guy sucks
Normal has a cool beat but I'm sick and tired of his fantasy relationship songs
Good guy is nice despite the boring content
    Stepping stone is great
Venom is nice, it grew on me later on
    Lucky you is pretty good
    Fall is great
Kamikaze is kinda corny but still better than most of his 'goofy' songs.
Not alike , liking the shots at mgk and royce does a good job. Nothing that special though.

So yeah , people calling it bad are really overreacting , same w people calling it top 10 this decade lol. But again, this is nothing new.

He can't continue this though. Caterpillar was ok and rainy days was also a nice song (mostly because of boogie) but the whole 'haha new rappers s---' stuff is not gonna last

There's no doubt in my mind that he can. But will he? He's way too inconsistent to have faith that he absolutely will.

Kamikaze (8.2/10) ain't better than Relapse (8.8/10) and Recovery (8.5/10) but it's definitely better than MMLP2 (7.5/10) and Revival (4/10)

Has some flaws like occasional corny lines, and tracks about relationships that just ruin the vibe. Production can also be way better but it's still pretty good.
Stop doing these s--- relationship tracks, get Alchemist or Kanye to oversee the production from themselves, Metro Boomin', Preemo, Dre, Mike Will, FredWreck, Illa etc.
Let those guys spend some months on creating a cohesive sound that would make him flow more smoothly instead of these fast flows.
Em will definitely come with the bars.

Em got the reputation, resources, skills, money to cook like 100 more classic songs and make albums out of it. All he needs to take is an initiative. Dude can still f---ing go off on a track.

    @Zhaddow @Sahil Kohli

eminem's first few albums are probably an 8 (or higher) out of 10. there is no way you can genuinely think albums like kamikaze and relapse are equally as good. that's why those scores you guys gave are absurd

with that being said, as long as you enjoy the albums, that's all that matters. personally, i think people on here focus too much on rating the music/talking about how good it is. i just wanted to explain why i find those scores you guys gave to be way too high

They're not really that high. I'd consider SSLP a 10, MMLP and TES are probably around 9. I think Relapse is a 7/10 album and Kamikaze a 2 or so.

Personally to me his first three are 9 or more. Too many legendary tracks.
I still enjoy Relapse because of it's production, s---'s insane. His horrorcore imagery was great, his rhyme schemes were fire. He wasn't using those s-----y stop and go flows/fast flows just to show the world that he's a monster technically. He rapped, he flowed smoothly and his rhyming genius was on display without overemphasizing on syllables like he does today. Recovery and Kamikaze were great experiments with the sounds prevalent in these two periods with great flows and delivery.

    Revival was just some

Kamikaze is the closest thing to a real Eminem album that I've heard since 2002. It was a solid release, but if it was released after The Eminem Show, people would think he fell off.

Honestly, I rated it at like a 6/10, and I'm pretty comfortable with that rating, considering everything since Eminem Show was about a 4 or lower for me.

Still though, for what it was, I really appreciated it from Eminem. I don't think it was a classic, but it definitely sits at number 4 for me.

It was the first time that it felt like he was being himself on an album or even a song. It didn't seem like he was overthinking anything, and he just let off.

But, in saying that, I don't think he'll ever top it, but I'm totally OK with that now.

I'm definitely interested to hear what he has in store, but I might be even more shocked than I was during Kamikaze if he can pull it off again.
