Who made an argument about the Mongol conquest or any event that occurred prior to the 19th century?

Except we do, in the majority of the world. Even a couple hundred years ago it could happen anywhere

Okay that just proves my point, the worlds a lot better off than it was back then because you aint gonna die from the f---ing common flu. I don't understand what point you're trying to make

This isn't an argument about natural death caused by disease. I'm the one who brought up the advances in medicine and it was never presented in a way that benefited the past over the present so I don't understand this argument.

And by we who are we talking about? Because if it's America then no we don't. We facilitate in the evil acts committed throughout the world.

I'm pretty sure I was the first to bring that up a couple posts ago

Yeah thats my point though in America it's not gonna happen. In cuntland it wont happen in many places around the earth it wont happen. Sure it could happen in Syria, and it has but it's not like its can happen anywhere LIKE IT COULD HAVE A FEW HUNDRED YEARS AGO- get it now

We'll I'm almost certain that those world population estimates are inaccurate.

But to make my argument very simple

    War

HAS EXISTED FOR ALL OF RECORDED HUMAN HISTORY INCLUDING MODERN TIMES

    Killing of innocent people

HAS EXISTED FOR ALL OF RECORDED HUMAN HISTORY INCLUDING MODERN TIMES

    Most man made atrocities

HAS EXISTED FOR ALL OF RECORDED HUMAN HISTORY INCLUDING MODERN TIMES

You see things as they are getting better because there have been less people that have died from conflicts in the past 17 years vs the 20th century.

I see it as this, until we rid the world of all these things it is not getting better. A toleration of these acts creates an environment for a WW3 or another mass genocide.

    nobody tolerates them.

You see this as some sort of "toleration" of innocent people dying, war, and man made atrocities. (It's not.)

I see it as this, These acts lessening and happening fewer and further between on a global scale shows improvement. (that's exactly what I said originally.)

weren't you the dumb f--- saying "you can't change your argument" ?????

When debating casualty rates I brought up modern medicine being a factor in how many soldier die but that's an unimportant point.

I'm not actually sure what you're trying to argue. America problem may not be rouge terrorist cells killing villages or other developed nations (like a US) bombing it's people indiscriminately but we have our problems. 50 people may not be killed by an ISIS like entity but 500 people can be shot by a guy who goes to a store to purchase a weapon. There has been 700+ mass shooting just this year I believe. And what's being done to combat this problem? Nothing. We're told nothing can be done. The 2nd amendment rights of Americans trump any effort to try to combat our gun problem. Agencies like the NRA has handicapped agencies like the ATF and the CDC in it's fight to try to find a solution. We treat mental health like it's demon possession so while we've made strides in this regard we still have a ways to go. We've yet to combat poverty in america so there will always be gun violence resulting from that. This is an issue that we face that we've done very little to try and solve.

Yeah I agree with you about gun control but still just because the weapons are more powerful doesn't mean we're worse off

My argument has always been that since these things exist things are not getting better. I just reworded it.

I see toleration of it from every level. From citizens to governments. Lets just look at the Syrian refugee crisis. The American government and government agencies around the world are ok with denying them access to their land. Never mind they're fleeing from violence we've contributed to directly and indirectly. And Citizens don't give a s--- about people who aren't from their country. As an American I know this.

I mean that's just one example of a problem facing one country in a world with hundreds of countries.

But I'm not comparing here. My position is absolute. Until we come to a place in the world where war is not a common thing, homelessness is not a common thing, or genocide is not a thing we have not grown or gotten better as a society. Until we truly learn from our past and make a real effort to stop these things we're just as bad as those in the past.

You may not. The people who don't care about foreigners are the same ones who don't care about someone that lives across the state. Also I think the media has a lot to do with it considering they will def cover an american shooting but maybe not a syrian one you know. It is what it is. There's a huge money incentive in war too so it's being pushed harder than ever. I really don't know what to tell you though because we all seem to be doing alright in the first world, for the most part. We're more worried one guy maybe trying to r--- a 14 year old then a terrorist attack in the third world.

I don't know who this you is but people are stoned to death in other countries. People are drowned. I'm not sure what you are trying to say here. Are people being killed in a more humane way now?
