You're only focusing on the negative though, if you only focus on the negative then yeah everything ever is always bad forever. You're typing on a thing that fits in your pocket that holds all objective information the world knows, cars are a f---ing thing, the masses now realize how horrible it is to be a racist- if that doesn't tell you we're better than we were 100 years ago idk what does.

Our problems aren't the same as someone in Syria. I'm not arguing that at all. But we're the richest nation in the world yet we still have problems like homelessness, poverty, children going hungry, death from not being able to afford healthcare, etc. And unlike some third world countries it's not a problem of resources. We waste the most food of any country in the world. We have enough money to ensure every person has health care. So I don't see how we're getting better if the same problems that plagued us as a people in the past continue to plague us. Especially when it's not a lack of resource issue.

Greed is the underlining cause of all of the world problems imo. America just passed a 700 billion dollar bill defense bill. We saw after WWII how profitable war is to the bottom line. I agree 100% with this and the point about the media. The media is failing us but it's because they're businesses. They're job is to make money and that'll always come before it's service to the people.

Alright A couple thing I do agree with you on this but you need to know the world has enough food to feed everyone, its not a resource issue its about getting the food to the necessary people. Greed is the problem which is why I brought up war but as a society we are much better and more rational, sure the people in power have more power than they did back then, on a much larger scale but as a society we're not doing any worse by any means

An absolute argument. I don't believe there's any justification for acts of war or violence. My opposition to it's continued presence is constant and does not fluctuate. Until it's ceases to exist it is not getting better. Only millions dying since WW2 instead of 50 million + isn't a victory for humanity imo.

This is only within the context of the question posed. The original post was more about the future of the human race not really about us at this very moment. I don't think the future is bright for us as a species but all species die out eventually. I understand there is a balance. With evil there is good. I know a lot of people try to do good but idk, we elect people that do the opposite and that's a reflection on us.

I understand it's not a resource problem, that's my point. The logistics is what's holding up progress. Lack of diplomacy, empathy, and greed is the reason why issues like world hunger still exist imo.

I think logically you're where I'm at but you're outlook may just be different. You see it as things are getting better and will continue. I don't.

Yeah it does.

Example. We have an issue of babies being smacked.

10 years ago 10 babies were smacked. Now 7 babies are being smacked.

You progress is being made. Things are better.

Me, things won't be better until there are no babies being smacked.

Now substitute 10 years for ~ 5,000 years, babies being smacked for murder and comparable acts, and 10 babies for a few million.
