I agree. if you rap about pushing kilos and s---, you have to find a way to show the opposite side of what that does. the cover shows how it can affect anyone, including some of the most well known pop-culture/musical figures in history

pusha's been doing that since 2002 without using a dead legend's bathroom to prove it.

I get that side man I do. I feel like, like many likely agree with, this album was heavily influenced by Kanye and as we all know he is more prone to make bold statements. this was his idea, and he paid the cash for it. I liked the MNIMN cover art, but that was the only other pusha album cover that was good. this makes a statement to me. edgy? yes. maybe a little over the line? yes. but thats what art is meant to do, push the boundaries. look how many people are talking about this. this was meant to stir the pot while portraying the darker side of the raps. but again, I definitely see your point.

    No he hasnt...

That picture was published everywhere in tabloids when it happened, Kanye wasnt the one to bring it to the surface. He put it in the context of a d--- dealing album to emphasize the reality of the effects drugs have on people, even the greatest people. He is paying homage, it is not in poor taste. This is art, we need to embrace when artists go this far to convey a message, in such a chillingly authentic way. Its no disrecpect to Whitney, how could you read it as such?

I actually love the album cover. It's supposed to make you feel uncomfortable. You shouldn't feel comfortable listening to this coke rap. You should feel like you're on edge, anticipating what happens next. I think we hate it now, but we'll come around to it later.

People don’t like art that makes them feel uncomfortable or makes them face reality, its sad.

I don't know how people could feel outraged at this when Whitneys family took the 85K check for the licensing of it. A lil distasteful? Perhaps. But I wouldn't be mad at Ye/Push. I'd be mad at Whitneys family for taking the money and going with it. If they really cared that much, they'd be publically denouncing it.

i am not alleging that kanye discovered a previously-unseen picture, where did you get the impression that i was?
you're welcome to your interpretation––and again, i don't think the album suffers for its cover per se––but i absolutely disagree with you. pusha is firmly and unambiguously in the deal-but-never-use camp, and highlighting whitney's fatal addiction here is, in my opinion, not a great look.
in your view. in mine, it is. and that's fine!
okay so, broadly, i agree with you––i like artists being provocative and i like them testing boundaries. i feel that this attempt was very misguided. (it was also not even the credited artist's idea, so i don't see why you're going to the mat on this.) there's absolutely nothing wrong with us disagreeing on this, but...
...give me a break dude, don't play naive. it's obvious why, even if you don't, other people would find this bothersome.

but i want to talk about the one staggeringly wrong thing you said, which is this, re: pusha showing the consequences of dealing since 2002
    .......was this a joke?

I meant that he definitely has never conveyed it in such a vivid way as this, this is something he hasnt done before, that’s all.

And it doesnt matter if it wasn’t Pusha’s idea, this project is just as much Kanye’s art, so him thinking of placing this image as the image that is seen while listening to this music, is a strong artistic decision in my opinion.

Lol if you can’t see the difference between seeing a real life image like this juxtaposed with this crack dealing music and lyrics from a d--- dealer himself then idk what to say.

You’re being silly, it’s fine if you’re hurt, but we not trying to stop artistic expression over here. Leave that to the laws and the critics.

i don't think you've listened to very much clipse, frankly. this is the exact kind of brutal consequence pusha's been illustrating since before the iraq war.

only thing silly here is you saying pusha's album is "just as much kanye's" lol
