Jan 13, 2020 this is exactly how i felt. fun but would be ten times as fun without that shoehorned in
Jan 13, 2020 Thanks m8 Seriously though yeah I wanted to create some discussion because I honestly can't understand the praise for it, but I guess it didn't work Just like when I called TP season 3 for the mess it was and Twan (i think it was twan?) got all butthurt and insulted me instead of explaining why it was supposed to be the most incredible film experience of the last decade I must be doing this wrong tbh
Jan 13, 2020 Uncut Gems, Joker, The Irishman, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood... were all great. I clearly have a few movies I need to check out
Jan 13, 2020 i love his films. but i'm not one who thinks he can do no wrong. i also thought once upon a time was just OK. it didn't blow me away like many of his previous films. but one thing i think we can all agree on is that the soundtrack is amazing. and that's saying something because his previous films have a lot of awesome songs that fit the scenes perfectly..... but as a whole, this is my favorite soundtrack of his

Jan 13, 2020 I think we can all appreciate a sassy comeback. This one had me (and the rest of the board) rolling on the floor keep the laughs coming, Chad!
Jan 14, 2020 Could you please elaborate what was good with Ad astra? It left me more bored than i dare to imagine what it would feel like to watch a superhero movie. I did enjoy brads acting but the story was just mehh, im not a film buff or anything so thats why im asking, maybe i missed something
Jan 14, 2020 Don’t think it was me. I’m pure of spirit. I’d never insult. TP Season 3 was a masterpiece though
Jan 14, 2020 can't speak for swizz but i also had it on my list... the story is just apocalypse/heart of darkness, pretty straightforward stuff no question, but for me what got me was the production design/imagined world of a near-future space that has been commercialized and is already decaying. it's basically that line pitt has in v/o right as he gets to the moon, about how gutted his dad was to see something with such promise ruined in the most unimaginable way, blown up to huge proportions. i also loved how desolate everything was made to feel. it's not a dystopia, it's just the future.
Jan 15, 2020 pretty much what I had in mind about Parasite, I was too harsh in my post. Id put it around 11-12 in my list as well, its not like I hate it, I very much enjoyed it also nice to see some love for portrait of a lady on fire and the beach bum in your list
Jan 15, 2020 I enjoyed parts of it, but some others ruined the film for me. Some parts of Pitts inner dialogue felt like something a teenage girl would post on facebook, but some others hit hard and worked. I loved how the trip to the moon was designed, like a plane in 2019, but then they would use weird moon rovers that looked exactly like in the 60's? Like I know it was not big of a deal but it bugged me why there are 60's looking rovers when we pretty much conquered moon and are going on trips to Mars like no big deal? The best part of the movie for me was his relationship with his girlfriend, I think they nailed his character in these terms. Overall the movie was very good but I wish it was a bit better
Jan 15, 2020 I agree but I still loved it for: cinematography music Joaquin and Robert (especially if you've watched the king of comedy lol) setting (gotham!!!)
Jan 15, 2020 also yesterday Ive seen Deerskin and it is wonderful, pure wild fun, and Adele Haenel is in it
Jan 15, 2020 I like how Johnson made Chris Evans an a------ and Daniel Craig all southern and kind of dorky, considering they are Captain America and James Bond lol
Jan 15, 2020 Lighthouse was by far the most overrated film last year now I think about it. Marriage story def #2 tho
