The “Fill Me In” singer and 00’s icon has returned with a brand new single, and is supposedly sailing back across the Atlantic to breathe some life back into the world of British R&B. He’s also answering the dreams you never really knew you had. Specifically, that dream where he andDrake form a mini-supergroup and release the best mixtape of 2016. Speaking in an interview with BBC 1Xtra’s breakfast show yesterday, David claimed that a collaboration between the pair was “easily” a possibility, and that the “Hotline Bling” rapper was all over it. “When I saw Drake in this restaurant, we walked up to each other and there was this moment when I was like, 'Oh man that tune is all I'm listening to,’” explains David. “And he was like, 'Man I need to call my producer, if I can tell him right now that I'm with you, Born to Do It! The tunes you have.' And this was kicking off.” It certainly was kicking off. He continued: “When the time is right, when it's really right, and there's the Craig David/Drake mixtape, I promise you, not on a 'get gas, beg a man to be on his record' kind of thing, because he's the hottest thing right now. But he'd easily be like, 'Yeah, man, I want to do that.'” You can listen to the full interview on the BBC website here.
