Dec 17, 2019 At the 1995 Source Awards, Andre 3000 said the South had something to say and they’ve been saying it ever since. Three Stacks alongside his better half, Big Boi, paved the way for the dominant Southern sound today. Outkast left us with a big discography after the release of the 2006 film, Idlewild, but we’ve been waiting for a solo project from Andre. The legendary lyricist did a rare interview on the Broken Record podcast and revealed that his creative process is pretty much stagnant right now. “I haven’t been making much music, man,” he reveals. “My focus is not there, my confidence is not there. I tinker.. I tinker a lot. Like I would just go to my piano and just sit my iPhone down and record what I’m doing. Move my fingers around. I haven’t been motivated enough to make a serious project. I’d like to, but it’s just not coming.” “In my own self, I’m trying to figure out where I sit,” Andre 3000 continues. “I don’t even know what I am. Maybe I’m nothing. Maybe my history is kind of handicapping in a way. So I’m just trying to find out what makes me feel the best right now. What makes me feel the best is when I do these random kind of instrumental things. They make me feel the most rebellious.” https://thesource.com/2019/12/17/andre-3000-solo-album/
Dec 17, 2019 I would love a new OutKast album so much. A solo project might be to much for him but a OutKast album he only has to do half the work. Add a couple features and boom. classic
Dec 17, 2019 Well, as far as I'm concerned, all those things he said just points to one thing. Even if Andre 3000 makes new music, it might not be (probably not gonna be) as good as we would have expected it to be. He doesn't have the inspiration to write, to produce or create at all.
Dec 18, 2019 Eminem has been in the same boat for 10+ years and hes doing eetswar i wouldnt worry dude
Dec 18, 2019 I don't think him and Big Boi have that type of relationship anymore. Like they're "cool" and aren't gonna be putting their issues out in public but as far as I know they don't really work together or hang like that. Like that Outkast tour a few years ago was just a cash grab and I think Andre is on record saying he didn't really wanna do it. Happens to a lot of rap groups when the members have different personalities/goals.
Dec 18, 2019 Yeah they haven’t f----- with each other in a minute. They’ve been creatively on different s--- for like 14 years now
Dec 18, 2019 I know . I just want one more OutKast album. It’s not like Andre doesn’t still got it. still butt hurt af that Kendrick has never got a feature from Andre.
