Are we at a turning point for the upward trending social media usage or is it here to stay?

Now days I feel like we as a society have become way too dependent on rolling over in our bed to our phones to check twitter and Instagram just to see what everyone else is doing. Will the next generation after us be even more dependent on social media or will they feel disgust towards the massive control that it had on their then-predecessors. On another note, could be empowering to take like one month a year to go without using your phone at all in an effort to try to break these bad habits.

I guess but I'm fine w interacting in real life and discussing some stuff on here. I'm sure social media can be very useful (keeping in touch w people far away/business stuff) but imo most use it in a cringy way seeking attention
