I'm convinced that ATL is the best city for rap right now and probably all time. This group called EarthGang (went on tour w/ Ab-Soul last year and are now on tour w/ Mac Miller) are unlike the typical ATL trap sound you've been hearing this year.

They just released their new album, Strays With Rabies, and although I have yet to fully digest it, I'm loving the sound. Right away, I thought of groups like Outkast or Flatbush Zombies. If you like either of them, check out this album. It's available to stream everywhere right now and if you want a download link, just ask.

Haven't seen them talked about on sxn80 at all, so I wanted to hear other people's opinions on them! I think they're dope.

Here's the first single for the album:

ATL is definitely the hotspot atm, but I doubt anything ever topples 90s NY. That said, I'm glad these guys are keeping the Goodie Mob/Outkast side of the ATL alive on this. Pretty sad to see Kendrick doing it more than the south.

earthgang is very good. haven't checked out the new album but i've been a fan.

at this point, atlanta has had more years on top of rap than new york since 1990. but yeah, it's hard to see a city topping new york's 94/95/96.
