    Dave East
is a rapper hailing from East Harlem, New York. Born with the name David Brewster Jr., the artist later became known in the streets as Dave East. (East being because he's from the East of Harlem) and Dave being the slummed down version of David.

The Harlem artist has been generating a lot of attention lately with the recent success of his latest mix-tape titled fittingly as "Kairi Chanel" which features work from artist like 2 Chains, Sevyn Streeter, Fabolous, Cam'ron, Beanie Sigel, Jazzy Amra, and The Game.

Where some people seem to be confused, thinking that East came out of nowhere and instantly started blowing up, this is far from reality. The artist has been grinding for around 7 years now with his debut Mix-Tape dropping July 15, 2010 titled Change of Plans which generated him a lot of hate on release. (I personally think it was one of his better tapes, helped define him as an artist for sure, and I'm happy he took the constructive criticism blogs like HNHH and a couple others gave him too improve his sound in the areas he lacked.)

So if people wasn't f---ing with East when he dropped Change of Plans when did his success really start? The start of Dave East's success happened shortly after he released his 7th mix-tape titled "Black Rose" (July 22, 2014) the release of Black Rose was insane, think of one of the artist you've known about for years getting slapped for years about his talents, then one day deciding he wants to slap you back. That's essentially what happened with this tape.

A lot of people claim that he owes a lot of his success too the feature he had with Smoke DZA on the tape, however I feel like that track may have been one of the weakest tracks on the entire project. I personally feel like all around this project showed how talented East is all around, being he did the entire project with only one feature and blew up off of it.

The intro starts off with some heavy bass and a vibe that's prepared to throw you into an orbital turn the f--- up vibe, and continues into a 90's based New York sound with "F**K You".

Now that I've taken some time out of my day to share some of the information related to the coming up process of east, I'll share with you his Mix-Tapes for those unfamiliar the order they're displayed below is the order I would recommend listening to them, because his earlier tapes will really take you some listening too really appreciate.

    1. Black Rose released July 22, 2014
    2. Straight Outta Harlem released December 23, 2014
    3. Hate Me Now released October 1, 2015
    4. American Greed released July 6, 2011
    5. Kairi Chanel released September 30, 2016
    6. Insomnia released ?? (sometime in 2011)
    7. Change of Plans released July 15, 2010
    8. Gemini released April 15, 2013
    9. Don't Sleep released November 22, 2011
    10. No Regrets released August 13, 2012

Provided you're a fan of anything you've checked out above I recommend following east on all of his social media, Instagram especially the artist is very prone to teasing unreleased singles. I would compile a list of all the unreleased singles with expected release dates, however there's simply way too many.

Same reason I can't really be bothered compiling all of his singles and displaying the release dates here, however I will be updating this post soon with a complete discography. (I believe it's over 1000 songs.) not too mention the features he's done over the span of the last two years with major artist. Here's a couple.
