Feb 24, 2016 I totally agree with what he said. s---'s not cohesive whatsoever, & the lack of bars if evident throughout the record. Sonically speaking? Ye can't do wrong. What we've heard today with "Saint Pablo"...... This next record needs to be God tier in terms of rhymes n' subject matter.
Feb 24, 2016 I think I (no surprise) agree the most with Myke, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it great as I definitely think it's really riding that line into being just ok. (So, like a 7).
Feb 25, 2016 I love DEHH because they provide a spectrum of different opinions. Ken was more traditional minded. Sometimes I think he's a hiphop Republican and if a new amazing innovative sound hit him on the head, he wouldn't even know it. But I also do agree with him (and the others) on that the album could have had more substance. Real Friends and No More Parties In L.A. indicated that Kanye was able to provide meaningful bars when he wanted to. It's kind of like with Yeezus, when he dropped the two most political tracks, and then the rest of the album was about sex. I was surprised that Myke C Town (the Simon Cowell of the group that calls everything trash) said it was great. Knowing him, I think he exaggerated and TLOP probably won't be in his top 10 at the end of the year. My personal opinion ranges from Feefo's overall approval of the album and Beezy's opinion that it's average. Like they said, I think the album shows flashes of talent, but it's not coherent, focused or fleshed out. It's just Kanye putting out music that's dope without having to put too much work into it, because he can get away with it.
Feb 25, 2016 I believe that this record was solely meant to get his feet wet for what's to come in the summer. He's just providing fans with a multitude of diverse tracks to keep them occupied leading up to this next release. "Saint Pablo" (from what we've heard) is probably the most "Album worthy" track we've heard. Insane bars, polished instrumental, & a beautiful chorus? PLUS, don't even get me started on that beat switch/up synth.... I feel like "TLOP" wasn't ready to be released (which is why it was called back) I just hope this new record's more cohesive, lyric driven, & has more stellar features.
Feb 25, 2016 they put their reviews on unlisted and give the links to people who donated to them on patreon a day before everybody else ca see them youtube made it so that you don't get money for views you get on your videos in the first 24 hours so they have to make it unavailable for a day to get paid
Feb 25, 2016 They all are in a sense. Outside of Feefo, none of them are really big on artists like Future, Thug, etc. They're very much set in stone with, maybe not so much "traditional hip-hop," but traditional rapping.
Feb 25, 2016 Myke doesn't like Future and s---, but he is faaaaaaar from tied to traditional hip hop, i think he gets it.
Feb 25, 2016 Yeah, Myke's weird with his tastes, especially with this album. Like, I understood his reasoning. He liked the musical aspects of the album a lot, the aesthetic/atmosphere and all that, rather than the writing or rapping. If that's the case though, it confuses me why he can't find appreciation for Future or Thugger.
Feb 26, 2016 All of them brought up very good points. Goat intro lol I feel like they cut out a lot of funny s--- so that the video would be taken more seriously. Especially the big dude's rant.
