Oct 26, 2015 Is the Slim Shady from 1999. the funniest rapper? Especially in horrorcore genre. I'm not familiar with many other horrorcore rappers, but from what I've heard they all seem just straight violent, missing the funny string Eminem had. Listen to SSLP, and while it's filled with violent imagery, you're left with a light feel to it, like it's all just a big joke and you're laughing at all the violent things he says he does. Plus they seem to lack the wit that's incorporated in Shady's lyrics. I guess being horrorcore implies being straight violent and scary, so maybe Slim Shady wasn't really horrorcore? On a related note, did Eminem do the Slim Shady squeeky voice on SSLP on purpose, or was that just the way he really sounded at the time? The voice is there even for serious songs, but it's odd that he'd suddenly have a different voice on an album a year after.

Oct 26, 2015 Yea I haven't considered Relapse in this case, I was just thinking of the 1999 Slim Shady period, but Relapse can get a pass with me too. It's again violent but not in a serious way.
