Jan 3, 2021 During an interview these past couple days, Em said for the first time that his new philosophy is "to just focus all energy on rapping, and leave production alone" (Em's not going to produce/MakeBeats, but instead focus on content/Lyricism/Bars/Multis) What are your thoughts on this newfound approach? I personally think this is a great idea for him at the moment, for at least a year or two... He for sure *eventually* should reinvolve his personal production (A1 btw), but for now focus energy on "lyrics." Side B was >>>> anything since 2002's The Eminem Show in my (stan) opinion (shoutouts to Recovery & PRhyme)... but again, What are your thoughts on this newfound approach? "She says I am trash, but she listens to Tekashi..." cheahcheahcheahcheah EM KEEP THAT SAME "SIDE B" ENERGY SALUTE CHEAH
Jan 3, 2021 Isnt It the same since relapse? He has Always done that since relapse. So nothing new..and i dont agree. He doesnt Need ti focus on rapping, but more on making music and melody
Jan 3, 2021 ^ “making music, melody,” what I called “lyricism,” I’m jointly referring to all the above. Em said he’s gonna focus on this moving forward (rapping as opposed to beat making) Back when he was on downer drugs ‘03-07, he briefly became obsessed with producing (making beats for 2Pac album, etc) I’m specifically referring to how, Em himself said like two days ago, “My new theory is that if I just focus on rapping then I can still put out great quality.” I love all Em music, but for me Side B is >>>>>>>>>>>> Side A, and I believe Em agrees with that just bc he’s “come into his own” the past half year (imo since 2:51 timestamp kid cudi verse) I think he’s a better rapper than producer right now, and I really want him to continue this positive trend from “Side B.” He basically said he’s gonna focus his energy more on the making music/content/melody and leave the production/beatMaking to others (of his choice of course) I personally feel this is a brilliant career move for Em and “just what he needed.” That’s just my 2 cheahcheahs though check it out cheahcheahcheahcheahcheahcheahcheah tl;dr Em CONTENT on ‘Side B’ is a huge step above other recent projects cheah
Jan 3, 2021 See I think this is weird to hear from him considering side B gave us the most organic Eminem beats we have heard since The Re-Up and I think it's the first time we have seen Em overlook every beat, I really enjoyed how he out his own twist on the beats, the beat switches on this album are all Em or an idea of Em's and I think it's a really organic approach, so if he's taking his focus off of completely producing beats and taking more of a co-produced/executive producer role I'm down with that, but at least have some input
Jan 3, 2021 ^ This is exactly what I'm tryna say with this thread. This is "New News" as of a couple days ago. He needs to continue with this philosophy/attitude/direction cheahcheahchehahcheahcheah
Jan 3, 2021 When did he say this? Seems odd since he produced quite a few songs on both MTBMB Side A and B.
Jan 4, 2021 I listened to those interviews and I'm not the guy that would miss something like that but I don't think he said something like that about leaving the production completely to focus on rapping. I remember him saying stuff like "I can focus on rapping and writing more when I'm not focused on production, I was like that in some era" Not sure what it quite was but it was kinda suggesting he used to did it for some time not now, with MTBMB...
Jan 4, 2021 Idk, Side A and B was the best I've heard from him production wise since TES. But if he did a collab album with one sole producer like with Premier or Dre (prhyme, relapse), it would be a great move tbh
