Sep 5, 2018 I never understood this. Sometimes you say DO IT then other times don't do it. You don't want to give the opponent ''publicity.'' Some think that the Act of responding shows that you are affected by the diss. Then other times if you don't respond, you're either too scared or you're sending a message that you aren't affected. So this confuses me. Which one is it? If you respond and it's good, your fans are going to start cheering for you. But then anyone can just say that a response wasn't warranted and it only shows insecurity. So for me, it's very confusing how to know if it's okay or not to diss. Before ''The Warning'' Mariah Carey made ''Obsessed.'' And her fans were saying that she won. But Eminem fans were saying that she responded and so the act of responding means she lost. But then when Eminem responded, the narrative flipped. His fans were saying he won, but then Mariah fans were saying the fact Eminem responded means he lost because he was too desperate to not let it go.
