I'm still pretty fresh in high school yet i fear I dont know my calling. I play sports, yes, but I do not see myself partaking in them in college, as I dont really have a passion for them despite my coaches trying to force me to love the game. I've always been into writing and literature, yet been shot down by family telling me "journalist/authors/writers barely make any money to do it for a living." I've always been interested into doing what those dweebs at complex do, like reporting pop culture news, or illroots. I've written little poems and stories about dumb s--- and thought I could be the next Quentin Miller for my poverty ridden rapper of a friend, but I'd rather do it myself.


When did it hit you what career/goal you wanted to achieve in life?

Dude f--- what your parents think of you, in the end you're the only one there so follow your heart. Don't let anyone control your destiny. Maybe do sport on the side or juggle both but don't give up on your dream. happiness>annual cash flow

I'm 2 yrs outta high school and dunno what I want to do, it's natural to be that way. Just put your effort into being productive in some capacity in the meantime and focus on what you want to make happen, but don't stress b it comes to us all in time.

Idk I want to be a songwriter but opportunities have been scarce so far. I had more opportunities when i wanted to do fashion s--- but I'm enjoying writing a h--- of a lot more. Follow whatever destination makes you the happiest man.

Consider that for anything other than trade-specific classes (ie forklift operator, mechanic etc) for your first few years of college you'll just be getting basics outta the way (English, math, etc) so you still have time to feel out what you want. Usually colleges have you take a prep course (for me it was an entry level psych class) that can help you at least get an idea of what you want.

Dw you're extremely lucky if you know what you want at this point in your life, the vast majority of ppl who have a choice in what they can do with their life don't know what do until further down the road, everything you're describing is normal feelings that most people go through, these are issues that resolve themselves with time and experience.

I know I love sports. I'm a--- at ball but its one of my most favorite sports to watch/play. Football is cool and all, but I dont enjoy it enough to pursue the NFL, but half of my team does. I just play to try it out and have fun. Might just fall down a flight of stairs and not play my 12th grade year since I already have a replacement for varsity and I don't want to hear grown men yelling at me for being straight up
