May 8, 2017 Alright here's my current situation. I had a 1.5 TB external HDD I used to keep all my music on. I setup itunes to look for music in that drive when I played it and synced it to my ipod. That hard drive recently died and apparently it's been a long a--- time since I last backed up my itunes. I'm missing lots of music guys and I just got a new pixel phone and wanted to start using the 128 GB I have with it so I could get away from having to carry my ipod and phone. What are my options? Can I reverse recover my music from my iPod and put on my PC harddrive and then put it on my new phone that way. Any help I'll take it guys
May 8, 2017 I have Spotify premium and use it everyday but I had a lot of music on my iPod that isn't on Spotify.
May 9, 2017 Lol lazy a--- Nevermind I think I figured something out. Looks like I can use my iPod as an external hard drive or do a full data transfer with the cord and adapter that the pixel came with. I'd keep all the music in my iPod for the new phone but anything on my harddrive that wasn't on my iPod is gone.
May 9, 2017 not a fan of wasting data on streaming stuff when i could just download it once and use it on any device and not have to worry about ads or a monthly fee also there's lots of s--- that isn't available on streaming, or only on specific services and i ain't about to be paying for multiple services or missing out on something i wanna listen to lol not to mention I like to collect music n' s--- anyways in my itunes library
May 9, 2017 depends most things are recoverable unless your hdd is making a clicking noise then your drive is proabbly fine and your enclourse that the drive itslef sits in is faulty as they do go bad i use recuva to recover delted files form drives even if they go bad can still get them back u can get recuva for free from piriform.com
May 9, 2017 I got u. Streamings the best thing that happened to me. There was an aspect I liked about downloading, keeping, organizing music on a hard drive but after a while it just got too tedious. Keeping my devices synced, consistent, up to date etc. Streaming takes care of that for me plus gives me the luxury of having any album a few clicks away at any time. Thats probably the thing i like the most since i have tendencies to get bored and spontaneously play new music that i would have never have thought to dl preemptively. All this while using up no hard drive space. (Specially on my phone) Stuff not being available is not an issue since google (and a few other platforms) allows you to upload your own music and have available to stream. You also have your own library to "collect" your music. Only issues i see is data use ( i have unlimited so i dont mind) and monthly fee. But at 10/month for google music + other perks i find it more than fair.
May 9, 2017 ill switch to streaming when theres a service that covers all the music i listen to including mixtapes, in consistent quality, lossless if possible with the right tags, no bootlegs and an interface that works well for more than just playlist listening
May 9, 2017 Pretty much exactly why I haven't switched to full streaming. Lots of rare stuff you wont find on streaming sites. And yeah you could YouTube it if you like s--- quality. My drive was making the click noise.
