Dec 11, 2017 I do like Untouchable. But when I had someone I know on youtube listen to it, he just laughed at it and didn't even think it sounded like Eminem. He couldn't even hear the song very well either on his iTunes, and that's another issue. How they messed up the production with that is mind-blowing. But ultimately the main problem is that he's not grabbing people's attention with his songs. You have to be a fan of his work and you have to find internal meaning and be willing to dissect all of his lyrics. The truth is most people can't even make out what he's saying. But in songs like White America, it's pretty easy to hear what he's saying. And it was a very catchy song... So because of his voice and his flow, he's not getting the message across to the masses the way that he wants to. The average listener cannot even understand what he's saying. They can't understand the lyrics and they can barely hear the words... Songs like My Name Is is very easy to hear. Songs like White America is very easy to listen to. Now it's a challenge to make out all the words on one listen. Eminem can no longer catch people's attention on a first listen. It even takes most of us a few listens to really get into the songs. I wonder if Eminem knows this. He has to. Most people can never understand a Shady IV flow. And on top of that, the audio quality is very very poor for Untouchable. From a technical standpoint, it doesn't sound right. I just don't understand why these little things aren't cleaned up. It's quite frustrating. Remember how Cocaine didn't sound clear? That's almost how Untouchable sounds.
Dec 11, 2017 I think a lot of Em's songs though, even prime ones, were a bit like 'wait, what?' initially. A lot of his stuff... you have to spin it a few times to start catching s--- and for the sound to start to unravel. Because his raps are dense and he usually comes with a new style... So to a casual listener... Of course they ain't gonna hear s---. It's probably just like 'the f--- is this?'. I wouldn't say you have to be a fan of Em. Just a fan of rapping. If you enjoy rapping and deciphering a new dense rap song... s--- like this is fun as f---. But, I wouldn't even agree with "Untouchable". I heard it clear as day from the first listen. And I'm saying... that ain't always the case. I don't get the issue with production... it's clear and well done. And doesn't overpower Em's voice at all. ESPECIALLY in the second half - I don't know how anybody has a problem with that second half beat and his vocals. He's clear as day and rapping at a very normal speed, in little bursts of delivery flow. "We don't need all you crooked policeeee officers peeaceee oferrings". Really nice clear emphasis like the old days. You just have to want to listen. Anybody who just wants an instantly banging beat and a quick catchphrase... his s--- isn't for them anyway. Nor should it be, even though him and Porter wackly said 'something for everyon'e upcoming - art should be fascist. Why he even tries to appeal to people who don't want to listen to what he does is wack in the first place. Everybody is not supposed to be everybody's fan.
Dec 11, 2017 Ya when Em was in his prime u could understand every lyric on first listen.. And after a few spins you could rap along with him cuz he flowed so smoothly and made it seem so easy.. Now u try to rap along everything is like choppy.. Only song I feel like he’s flowed well on like his prime days is Seduction.. Other then that everything seems forced almost.. Nothing smooth and easy about it
