Feb 13, 2015 Rumors have been going around forever that the 7th solo will be a celebratory version of 808's and Heartbreaks. With each new song we hear, the chances of this being true increase. Would you be okay if the whole album was filled with singing enhanced with autotune? Personally, I want things like this if the album had a theme of celebration
Feb 13, 2015 If it's as good as 808's I'm happy/fine with it. But something similar like in the OP can be great as well.
Feb 14, 2015 It's gonna have the singing of 808s & Heartbreak. The celebratory themes of Graduation. The message of The College Dropout. The instrumentation of Late Registration. The production of MBDTF. And the atmosphere of Yeezus. This album will be a mixture of everything we have from Kanye so far.
Feb 15, 2015 Personally i don't get a "happy" vibe from only one. I think the words uplifting and reflective are more appropriate. I didn't get a happy vibe from "wolves" the few times i heard it either.
Feb 15, 2015 Think about half of 808s is going to age well and the other half people will cringe at and think wtf?
Feb 15, 2015 lol word...well I don't got any connects, just what I wrote in the Only One review and on this forum. Aesthetically, it makes perfect -- especially given what we've heard so far. The autotune, the singing, the production. Thematically, it makes even more sense following Bound 2 (bound 2...love you, as Wolves puts it). The only reason Only One and Wovles don't sound "happy" per say is because they aren't meant to. Only one is probably a track meant for reflection that'll be placed in between two bridge two other songs thematically, or it won't be on the album on at all. Wolves is the opener -- it's the comedown after Yeezu's high, and it's what will transition us into the more uplifting Ye. AT least, that's what I think. And the lyrics on Wolves support my theory...the bits about "turning down" (lol), "only sorry if its the hennesy," etc. He realizes his image during and following Yeezus, and he knows what happened to get him to this point -- he's just now realizing it's time for a change
