Jun 5, 2019 i even was able to include a sectioneighty shoutout @BigCountrySXN If you wanna be alerted when I post an article join the usergroup here! thx for reading yall! How Leaked Music Has Evolved In The Streaming Age https://www.hotnewhiphop.com/how-leaked-music-has-evolved-in-the-streaming-age-news.81658.html
Jun 5, 2019 I need to pay more attention to the writer, I saw the article earlier today. Great piece! It is both nice and sad to see that lots of songs only get released officially when the leaked versions get positive responses... Oh and lol ""These days leaked songs stand for trash songs...""
Jun 5, 2019 You have an unhealthy obsession with lol Wayne. Also how much you make writing these articles?
Jun 5, 2019 Awesome as always, took me back in the day to waiting for new music on Limewire & Frostwire. I do miss the activity/spontaneity of those old blogs & mixtapes sites like TheEmpire, releases & leaks felt more momentous. It's very fast-paced these days and it's hard to keep up if you're not consistently behind the computer or connected. Even though the market got too saturated, it's found a different way to keep us on alert for new s--- (Instagram snippets & fan-made leaks like BC alluded to). How it impacted the quality of the music is another debate in itself. Definitely it's inclined more towards singles rather than projects
Jun 5, 2019 "Definitely it's inclined more towards singles rather than projects" This exactly @Fire Squad Its all about scoring a huge hit. If you ask random people how they feel about Lil Nas X album they will be like who the f--- is that? Even if they listened to OTR a hundred times. In a few days u can go from the hottest thing to a nobody as an artist Its impossible to keep up w these things as a fan, if you have a life. A song can be huge today, next week there's another one trending. And with so many mixtapes, EP's, leaks etc its d--- hard to stay relevant as an artist except when you already built a fanbase for yourself in the past.
Jun 5, 2019 lol thanks man. I really don't like writing listicles for the reasons we talked about in the previous thread but they're easy money. I much prefer think-piece type stuff. Where are you writing for these days if anywhere? You mentioned you were a writer in the other topic. You should post some s---!
Jun 5, 2019 Yeah. It pays the bills. If you're going to be a freelancer, you probably have to do it at some point to sustain yourself. I have my own site called The Freeze which is an extension of a podcast that I do. But I've written for other places too. Last piece I wrote elsewhere was for A.Side magazine. I posted my article about anime on the board recently. Here are two that I wrote recently: How Anime Made Its Way Into Hip Hop The Cultural Impact of George Clinton on Rap Music
Jun 5, 2019 I missed the anime one! I'll check these out—I don't know much about anime so I've always been interested on how that made its way in (I always just assumed the toonami generation aged into rappers lol). And it's practically impossible to overstate GC's impact on rap. Good s---!
Jun 6, 2019 I saw the anime one the other day! Checking out your site now, there are some really good articles on there. btw you should post on here more often
Jun 6, 2019 i didn't even realise Sold Out Dates was a leak lol. @Big Cuntry excellent articlesmanship, as usual
Jun 6, 2019 I appreciate that brother. I'm definitely going to post more articles this month as I'm doing a big marketing push for June. But I'll likely be more active on these boards as a whole the next few months until I start school in September for my post grad.
