Dec 15, 2017 The vocals were performed by Alice And The Glass Lake. The singer Alice Lemke passed away in late 2015 so that track is at least 2 years old. I was just listening to some of her tracks and I really like them. I love this interlude, I love the whistling sound and the keyboards and of course the vocals. It just makes me wonder if this was part of a full song or if Dr Dre has tons of tracks like this lying around, maybe by singers that none of us would know to hear but like Alice have a body of work available to hear. As much as I want Eminem to take the reigns and do his own production again and do his own hooks it's short pieces of music like this which show that you can have beautiful music on your album without having anything to do with it yourself.

Dec 15, 2017 Ahhh I've misread the scans, I thought Dre had mixed this interlude too. It's the only track on the album that sounds like something Dre would do.

I've had the interlude on repeat more times in a row than I'd really like to admit tbh.
Dec 19, 2017 Edit: old post made zero sense. It really is a beautiful piece. I wonder if Eminem had worked with her in the early days of recording and it was almost used as a tribute to include it in the final cut. The album should have opened with this track imo.
Dec 19, 2017 nope. the Regina Spektor track isn't the same lyrics as Alcie's track. it's unknown (by myself, mostly) if Alice originally sang over Spektor's track/sampling or if she had recorded her voclas over something else entirely and they were added to the Spektor sampling for the purpose of eminem's album..
