Jul 30, 2016 This album is absolutely flawless, start to finish. It came out in 2001, and was unfortunately completely overshadowed by big name releases from Nas, Jay-Z and Eminem. I feel like had it come it in the mid 90s it could easily be ranked alongside Illmatic, Reasonable Doubt, The Infamous, Ready to Die. Thoughts?
Jul 31, 2016 classics for sure but neither as underrated as The Realness. Is it just me that is an all-time classic? Would be interested to hear your thoughts. If you're a fan of Mobb Deep/Nas this should be a no-brainer.
Aug 1, 2016 Will give it a spin sometime today. Apparently Cormega was just in Adelaide like 3 months ago.
Aug 1, 2016 @Fire Squad your thoughts on this album? You're usually the go-to critic for NY albums. @YDB check out this song it sampled the same sample as International Players Anthem.
Aug 1, 2016 Cormega always been nice, even though from a production & writing standpoint it's a stellar album I just felt that there was something missing to really propel it to the same platform as other contemporaries. But I can certainly agree it's very overlooked Classic. Edit: Also if any of you haven't heard it yet I highly urge you to listen to the "The War Report" by Cormega Capone & Noreaga.
Aug 1, 2016 What an album man. It definitely has shades of Nas/Mobb Deep/Cam'ron -- that New York flavour to it. Loved the introspective cuts. Production is right up my alley it's great. Gonna spin it a few more times but favourite tracks are Rap's A Hustle, R U My n-----, Fallen Soldiers (original and remix), Thun and Kicko, Glory Days, Get Out My Way and They Forced My Hand.
Aug 1, 2016 The War Report is another NY 90s classic, havent listened to it in years but its amazing. thought you might like 'Mega, such a pity he never got the shine he deserved when he got booted out of the Firm. If you want more i'd also highly recommend his second album: The True Meaning and then his unreleased album The Testament, both perhaps just as good as The Realness.
Aug 1, 2016 @Ordinary Joel this songs from his unreleased alum The Testament, direct response to Nas' One Love from Illmatic, check it out
