Mar 7, 2017 One of Japan’s most acclaimed directors is bringing one of the most popular anime today to the big screen, and the live-action trailer is here. Takashi Miike (Audition, Ichi the Killer) is tackling JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, a popular anime that began in 2012. The anime is based on a manga of the same name, which was released in 1987, created by Hirohiko Araki. The series follows the Joestar family, who are tasked with taking down different enemies using their unique supernatural abilities. The new, 30-second trailer doesn’t do much to introduce the characters, but it does set the tone of the film. It’s important to note that the live-action film is called JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable Chapter 1, which seems to hint that there are plans for future installments in the franchise. It was first announced last September that Miike would be adapting JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure for the big screen, with Warner Bros. set to produce the feature. It was also confirmed at the time that the main character, Josuke Higashikata, would be played by Japanese actor Kento Yamazaki.
