Jun 18, 2017 TWO people are feared dead and several injured after a van reportedly rammed into pedestrians in a “terrorist attack” outside a mosque in north London. One man was arrested after witnesses said the van deliberately accelerated into a crowd of Muslim worshippers on Seven Sisters Road in Finsbury Park. London’s Evening Standard reports the van driver was armed with a knife and jumped out of the vehicle and stabbed one person. Others said there were three white men in the van. Metropolitan Police arrived shortly after 12.20am local time and a helicopter circled overhead as emergency services treated people on the street and took them away on stretchers. The vehicle mowed down around ten people on the street outside the Muslim Welfare House and near Finsbury Park Mosque, which had both just finished daily prayer service Isha, which starts at around 10.45pm. “Police were called just after 00.20 to reports of a vehicle in collision with pedestrians,” police said in a statement. “Officers are on scene with other emergency services. “There are a number of casualties being worked on at the scene. Injured pedestrians were taken away on stretchers as the road was filled with police, emergency services and bystanders, including many Muslim worshippers who had just left the mosque. Mohammed Kozbar, chairman of Finsbury Park Mosque, told The Sun: “Whoever did this, he did it to hurt people and it’s a terrorist attack. “We call it a terrorist attack as we called it in Manchester, Westminster and London Bridge.” A spokesman from Finsbury Park Mosque on St Thomas’s Road told news.com.au worshippers were leaving at the time of the incident “200 metres away”, but he did not know if it was a targeted attack. London Ambulance Service Director of Operations Kevin Bate said: “We were called at 12.15am to reports of a road traffic collision at Seven Sisters Road. “We have sent a number of ambulance crews, advance paramedics and specialist response teams to the scene. An advance trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance had also been dispatched by car.” Footage posted on social media showed a distressed looking white male believed to be the driver being held by police just after 1am. The Muslim Muslim Association of Britain tweeted: “Tragic to hear of attack against worshippers at Finsbury Park. Our thoughts are will those injured in the attack. We condemn this heinous attack on Muslim worshippers, and we call on the authorities to act promptly to capture the perpetrators.” The Muslim Welfare House, situated right by the scene on Seven Sisters Road, tweeted: “A van hits pedestrians 5 minutes from us. Finsbury Park overground rail station and the busy Seven Sisters Road have been closed off. “All I can hear is sirens and helicopters,” tweeted Lauren French. Ali Habib said he was on the scene and that a friend “doesn’t know if his family are safe at the moment.” Nearby resident Cynthia Vanzella said she could hear screaming, tweeting: “Horrible to watch police officers doing cardiac massage at people on the floor, desperately trying to save them. Finsbury Park Mosque has been at the centre of controversy in the past. Radical cleric Abu Hamza al-Masri was barred from the north London place of worship after years of struggle and police closed it down in January 2003 amid a major al-Qaeda associated investigation, the BBC reports. In 2003, the mosque was raided by the police and shut down before it was reclaimed in 2005 by the local Muslim community and transformed with the help of the Muslim Association of Britain. In November 2015, the Metropolitan Police said they were treating as a hate crime an attempted arson attack on the mosque. Police released CCTV footage showing a suspect throwing over the railings what police said was a can filled with petrol. Jun 18, 2017 Well they want to create conflict between westerners and western muslims to get muslims in the west to join their cause and create instability in the western crusader countries with their end game being establishing the sunni caliphate in the middle east. It's easier for them to radicalise muslims in the west if there's westerners killing them like in this incident
